Now that you know the face of the Dolphins 2013 draft class, Dion Jordan, put himself and the team in a tough spot for training camp based on his coming four-game suspension, it should be said that the rest of the '13 class is entering camp on a hopeful note.

That's right, the class that disappointed last year is suddenly promising after several of the players have had good offseasons.

“Overall, I thought the draft class from ’13 was better [this offseason]," coach Joe Philbin said. "We’re looking for those guys to step up and contribute.

The Dolphins are even seeing hopeful signs from running back Mike Gillislee, a fifth-round pick, who contributed on special teams but may be fighting for actual carries this year.

“He didn’t get a ton of runs last year,” Philbin said, "but we like the way he's been moving around."

Interesting, isn't it? The 2014 Dolphins may be getting an infusion of talent ... from their once absent 2013 draft class.

Here's hoping it turns out to be a good class after all is said and done.

If guys like Dallas, Jamar T., Don Jones, Will Davis, Michael Thomas, and A.J. Francis (6-5 330), make that jump into starter-significant fill in roles, then this makes us a better team than last year aside from new OC and system IMO.

This is the X factor along with the new rookies like Landry, James, and Turner. this is something many people who break this team down dont realize. They bank all these guys on last years team.

Don't forget about Dion Jordan, Dion Sims, Jelani Jenkins and Jordan Kovacs from last year. Jelani is battling Wheeler for the weakside LB role and he deserves a shot in the preseason games. He might surprise by offering a lot more than just on special teams. He was also mentioned by Joe Philbin at OTAs as a player who has improved.

Taylor was impressive at Boise State, enough that I think he has starting ability. Jordan will be a stud in my opinion. I know people are down on him, but his talent will shine through. I really liked Thomas at Tennessee, but thought he was absolutely awful last year. I'm not feeling confident about him in a starting role, but at least encouraged that he's improving. Jenkins is interesting at linebacker. He can't be worse than Wheeler. I can see Wheeler on passing downs.

No question we need some of these guys to come through in a big way to take that next step.

Taylor needs to step up big time since Jordan will miss 4 games. I hope Thomas and Jenkins can start and play well.
