The way I see it(I remind you I'm just you average, everyday fool) there is only one way for Nick Saban to drastically improve our offense and that way is through the draft. But our draft picks are nothing out of the ordinary. We're actually down a 5th rounder if I'm not mistaken. So what's the remedy? Trades? FA? Discussion anyone?

I disagree, we don't need to clean house. we will be getting Culpepper and Ricky back. our o-line is much improved, if we draft Jake Long in the 1st to improve our o-line even more we should be fine. Ricky and Ronnie will be able to run the ball well and Culpepper will make our WRs better by bringing his accuracy on the deep ball to the equation. draft a guy like Jordan Palmer to be our future QB, until he's ready Culpepper will do a good job for a few years

Cleaning house would be a mistake but "tweaking" is what is needed. IMO, we will have a healthy DC next yr. The O-line has improved but they can still use a good solid LT and center. Also, a late to mid round pick on a QB would be nice. How about drafting Ty Moss from the U later on too. Yes, I know Ricky will be there but he could literally be gone agin in a puff of smoke. Hagan should be better w/another yr. I also think the secondary will be improved afet another yr w/Bell and Allen as starters. Probably we can look at LB and corner as well.

I am iffy about keeping Mularky ac OC. He may have to go, too inconsistant and abandons the run too quickly. Maybe take Jason Garrett or try to get Rob Chudzinsky from San Diego as OC.

No to trading McMike and Chambers. They had a rapport w/DC that should be goog to go next yr. Also have to keep in mind the salary cap ramification.

The first thing that comes to mind when I read this, and I'm just speaking honestly here, is "Where did we go wrong?" It's not a good situation(sugar coating) when a franchise is depending on a QB coming off a major knee injury and a RB living with a major cerebral injury. Ricky Williams is a monster running the ball, but in life, he's a flake. I hope you're right though. Can you imagine DC and RW playing together, both at the peek of their abilities?

The salary cap issue is why I believe the draft to be our best answer. But we need to stock pile draft picks IMO so a trade would certainly come in handy.

I agree with your post but I'll remind you to think of the ramifications of what not "cleaning house" might entail for Nick Saban. If Nick doesn't clean house, which I think he won't do, he will definitely be on the hot seat next year- playoffs or pink slip.

we need a new OC!!!!!...also help on the OL is necessary im not happy keeping the same line up next yr...let alabi show what he has and see if G or T is a bigger need...i would also love ted ginn jr with the first pick to go along with chambers, booker, and hagan but i highly doubt saban will draft him...i'd be perfectly happy leaving the QB and RB position alone aside from a rd 4-7 QB to take joey not cleo's place

Would be nice to trade Chambers, I'm not sure we could get anymore than a 3rd for him though after his performance this year, so most likely he will stay another year and we will struggle on offense once again next year.

You are right though 34 of 38 players selected to go to the pro bowl are players that are still with the teams that drafted them. FA is a bigger crapshoot than the draft simply because if players were really that good they wouldn't be FA in the first place and the ones that are that good want far too much money limiting the effectiveness of the rest of the team due to cap restraints which is why they are FA.

I thought Long was going back to school...? Sam Baker too.

Think a GM would give up a #1 for McMichael and Chambers?

Long and Baker both announced during press conferencs that they are going back to school. Long even said that there was no doubt he was returning.

A combination of these two.
