There are some real question marks currently on the roster. Many of you have discussed Moses, but there are others with big questions.
Wilson at OT could have some potential to go in and play (takes a while for most OL to develop).
Ninkovich and Abe Wright may have some impact at the 3-4 lb spot.
Camarillo could surprise as a possession receiver and the Williams kid from Florida could be a kr.
Anyone remember Mormino?
Do any of you see potential surprises currently on the roster?

except for Moses I feel the rest of the young guys like the DTs and LB'ers may have a problem sticking with the team, the OT's will get a good shot, you can't really dtermine much until the pads come on, we'll eventually see.

The only thing I see is:

T.Ginn
R.Brown
Satele
Carey
Booker
Moses
R.Wright. I forgot!!!

Maybe: Hagan, Lehan, J.Allen.

Don't count Jason Allen he will be a defensive playmaker(doesn't drop interceptions).

Q. Moses
R. Wright
A. Wright

These are the ones that I am interested in seeing how they can develop. I believe R Wright has typical 3-4 DE size (6'5", 300lbs). Moses played well last year. Not sure if we will fit as DE or OLB (he replaced JT last year at times). Abe Wright had a good camp, showed some skill as a pass rusher. Can he bulk up and be an OLB?

I think Moses backs up at DE - he looks like he has talent.

LBooker will be loved by Henning - think Meggett all over again.

I think Hagan will be pushed now by Wilford and it will be make or break with him. He had a great college career and you can see the potential. I think he will make good strides with Dorrell coaching him.

I think Solai will get a big time wake up call and will not enjoy this camp at all. I also think he is either going to be the future NT or cut by next year. I could see him getting pushed the most by the coaches. He's huge - just like they would like - I'd expect them to have him in the weight room every day.

Awright needs to add 10-20 lbs and he may stick at OLB. Lots of raw talent.

I think RWright breaks out this year. This kid reminds me of a young Seymour. I think if they give him DE in the new 3-4 watch out.

I like KSmith and Miles at LB but I'm not sure they are big enough for BP. ST help for sure but I really hope they stick.

The position I worry about is the secondary. I think that is BP's specialty for drafting - that and DL. Remember the one year he got TLaw and Milloy for NE. I'd expect a couple of picks to go secondary this year.
I also think we draft our LT this year. Not to say it has to be JLong but if not it will be with one of the next 2 picks. Has to be because you gain so much by gettin gone and moving Carey back to RT. The right side with Satele, Smiley, and Carey could be there for awhile.

Moses is too small for a 3-4 DE. However, he has the athleticism to be a 3-4 edge rusher ala Wright. I see Wright and Moses getting the backup OLB positions this year.

If Ferguson ends up at NT and Starks at DE, then Rod Wright and Vonnie Holliday may be in a battle for the other DE slot. Roth will probably fall back into the rotation unless he shows something at camp.

I think Quentin Moses and Abraham Wright could both have a very bright future with this team, especially Quentin.

I think Moses, Rod Wright, and Lorenzo Booker are all going to be contributors this year. Though he may be a known name, I'd really put my $ on Randy Starks being a mainstay at a 3-4 DE spot.

The young player being completely ignored is John Beck. I believe Parcells and Ireland have decided that Beck is their man for at least the next year.

To start, Miami decided to sign career backup McCown for backup money rather than trading for someone like Anderson. Does anyone really believe that Parcells brought in McCown to start?

Furthermore, Parcells is unlikely to draft a QB in the first round and does not like starting rookie QBs in any case. I do not see any second or third round talent who is better than Beck.

For a glimpse of what Beck is capable of once he gets the rookie jitters out of the way, take a look at the second half of the 2007 final game. He marched the team down the field twice for TDs with some fine passing. This year, hopefully Beck will have a supporting cast to help out.

IMO Solai will really benefit from a guy like Jason Ferguson. Solid player, works hard "TEAM" guy. Jason Allen as well showed he is coming up to NFL speed (slowly). Can't stand the SOB but, Saban does know DB's. Just can't believe he took this long to come around. It was a "homer" pick on his part so who knows.

McCown is not a career backup since he has started 31 games in his career of which has been six seasons. Todd Collins is a career backup having started 20 games in 10 years. If we had signed Collins it would have been a sure sign that Beck was starting. There is nothing unlikely about Parcells drafting a Qb, none of us know what we are going to do. It doesnt matter if you think there is not a more talented guy in the draft than Beck it matters what our leaders think and nobody on this board has access to that info. Not once have they come out and said that Beck is our starter.

Great point. If you remember Bill's comments when he first got hired about Beck, he thought Cam threw him to the wolves. He has always been against doing that to a young guy. As you should be. He's always brought in a vet to start with and let the competition for the position dictate who the starter will be later in the season.

McCown was a starter for Arizona for one year back in 2004. During the rest of the time, he filled in for other QBs. McCown is insurance and nothing more. He was simply the best veteran QB left in FA.

Of course Parcells is not going to say Beck is the starter because Miami is trying to convince Atlanta that they are going to pick Ryan so Atlanta will trade up. However, Ryan is not worth a #1 pick and Parcells usually does not like drafting QBs in the first round.
