As with any organization in business or sports, success and
failure start at the top.
You are never going to be successful with an absentee owner.
if Ross runs his other businesses like this, I don't know how the hell, he has been successful in anything.
Yes, you need to hire good people to run your organizations, but the buck stops at the top.
I'm afraid is long as Ross is around, there is little hope for this franchise.

I'm as disappointed as every other Dolphin fan on here. However, I don't blame Stephen Ross. He employs football people to run the organization. Today we got physically smashed up with a massive number of injuries. We were running out of healthy players to put on the field and the Jets exploited it. That is not the owner's fault. Feel free to char grill me.

They're in full blame mode...Just making insane threads about nothing!

I thought this was a Dolphins not Cowboys board??

I can guarantee Ross would not sign a backup for an injured Tannehill, sing his praises, & then cut him while throwing him under the bus when Ryan returned.

Stephen Ross, IMO, has employed the worst group of coaches and talent evaluators in the NFL. They failed to address glaring holes at OL, LB, and CB like this entire board was saying before the draft and FA. Even worse than that is their personnel decisions. Just a few that really irk me:

1) Offensive Line. You neglect OL because of the Jamil Douglas signing (great pick lol) and Dallas Thomas' development (ha), and it takes you half the season to realize they are no good. But now its too late and you are stuck starting Thomas. Even worse, you cut Sam Brenner and are forced to have your rookie guard snap horrible footballs all game. You have ZERO capable backups on the entire offensive line, and are forced to start rely on Jason Fox to protect your franchise QB?!?!

2) WR. An argument can be made that it was a luxury pick with huge holes on OL and LB/CB, but it was less of a luxry than we thought. On top of the badly snapped balls and horrible pass protection, our WRs (not named Landry) don't get separation. Parker is actually needed. OK so now you got the guy.... What do you do with him? bench him. Bench one of the only guys capable of getting separation (D. Parker) for over half the season after he has recovered, and tell the media "we haven't seen him take a step forward"...Really??? The guy needs to be play. period. Thats WHY you draft a WR that high. To play the man.

3) DL. The second "luxury pick". Pick up the best FA DL man in Suh and assure everyone that you've sealed up the DL with the splash acquisition. "Say goodbye to our running defense woes!". But they might not have even been buying their own BS, because they go draft Jordan Phillips in round 2 instead of a guard or tackle. OK, now you have this 2nd round DT with tons of potential.. What do you do? Bench him.. Even after our run defense falls apart and the Dolphins defensive line is the biggest disappointment in the NFL. You make him a situational player. Now, like Parker, you only start giving him significant snaps because you are forced to because of injury? What kind of coaching staff is this?!

There is NO reason why the following players should not be starters the rest of the year:

- Devante Parker
- Jordan Phillips
- Bobby McCain

If they are not, it further proves my point that this staff is inept. And as much as people are clamoring for a new QB, they will ruin Paxton or whoever they bring in just like they are ruining Tannehill. These are the worst group of coaches and talent evaluators I have ever seen, and if Stephen Ross doesn't get it corrected this offseason, I agree. Dysfunction from the top down.

Injuries are no excuse.
What about the Colts, losing arguably one of the best QB's in football.
And they are winning with a 38 year old QB.
If you have the proper player talent evaluators in the FO, you have the proper backups in place.
Every team is beat up this time of year.
Again, the top man needs to hire the proper team to run his business (franchise)
Obviously, Ross has not done this

As in all things it starts at the top. I've known we wouldn't be successful with Ross as our owner from pretty early on, but I tried to fool myself into thinking otherwise because I wanted to hope. No more. We won't win with Ross as our owner. Period.
