This game was obviously very dissapointing on many levels. But im not gonna be going around like a lot of band wagon fans on this site who after 1 win start talking about playoffs and super bowl and then after a loss go back to saying how much we s*ck and how we are still a 4-12 team. There are a bunch of reasons why im not ready to call it a season after this game. most of which can be fixed.
1. Penalties - way too many, but this can be fixed
2. Poor line play - even though our line played well against the broncos, they are still young and are getting used to working together and with the new system, it will take time! Also the Jets have 2 VERY good defensive ends in Ellis and Abraham and thats where we had most of our problems againsted them.
3. Dropped balls - way too many ball that should have been caught were dropped, this is a problem with focus it CAN be fixed.
4.Ronnie Brown - he didnt play well, but im not calling him a bust like a lot of people are already, he is a rookie he is learning, i dont care what Carnell Williams is doing in Tampa hes in Tampa its a whole differnent situation. The problem with Ronnie is he is too hesitant when he gets the ball, he dances too much, this is something i think you see a lot with Rookies when they are adjusting to the speed nad the complex defenses that NFL has, along with just learning his own playbook, he was out most of Training camp so he is still getting into the flow.
and 5. and maybe the biggest reason, we played a DIVSIONAL RIVAL who ALWAYS plays us tough and they are a team who played so badly last week that they were on a mission and focused on this game. After seeing how bad they played last week i know they would play good this week no matter who they were playing. so it wasent just us.
So as bad as we did play im not ready to panic casue i believe we can still play good and long as we get some things under control
