Just found out that 3 teams; Saints, Eagles and Arizona Cardinals are salivating over Dion Jordan. Then I found out how Miami used this guy all over the field, it was pathetic to say the least. Rather than have the guy "master" a position...he was over-used if there is such a word. Just look at the pictures and the decide. If the guy rushed the passer all of his 29 snaps, he would have had 10 sacks easy. Poor guy, no wonder they wanted to trade him.

Jordan is gonna be an absolute stud for us!

Write it down.

I dont think there is any question on how good Jordan is and how good he will be. The reason he played all over the field was because of how good he was, they had to find room on the field for him. He was injured for a big chunk of camp which allowed Vernon to win the job and keep Jordan on the sideline. Vernon played so well that you cant just take him off the field which led to him playing id different positions.

I expect him to be on even ground in training camp to compete for a starting spot and i expect him to win it or at least split snaps with Vernon more often to get him more snaps and at least double what he got last year.

Reading over this and part 2, you understand why he is so valuable and why the Eagles are still talking about him. With an offseason of pro training and experience he should be an absolute force this year

A de who can cover most TEs in the game... Hmm.. Seems like he should replace wheeler to me

Actually he would be on the strong side where Misi plays, and anyone would be an improvement over him.

Just saying Wheeler was in coverage a lot more than misi last year :( i would rather have the kid play standing up thats all

Very interesting to see the substance of analysis in the Eagles fan site. This is top class stuff by someone very thorough and passionate. Kevin Coyle was very honest in answering questions on Jordan at his Press Conferences. Other players were getting more snaps because they were better at various things (ie Shelby - stopping the run). One year later, labrum fully healed plus 14 lbs of extra muscle, I'm looking forward to seeing what Jordan can contribute. His skill in blanketing a top TE in Gronk was pretty encouraging. We have been killed by big TEs for years and now we have a big fast guy to fully compete. When you throw in the progress made by Olivier Vernon, not forgetting Wake, it makes it interesting.
Dion Jordan could be Ireland's decent legacy to the team. He was always going to be a longer term development and needed some patience. I commend Coyle and Joe Philbin for showing patience and giving him a taste but not smashing his confidence by over playing him when not ready. Ireland deserved to be canned for his perennial failure to fix the O-line, not the moving up to acquire Jordan and his ability to contribute immediately.

Geez, do you ever read you post before submitting them? Misi may not be a pro-bowler but the guy has been solid. So to say, "anyone would be an improvement over him." is beyond you regular silly post.

I'm starting to worry about you mate! It's clearly getting worst! Especially, when I start thinking, "Atleast DLOCKZ would have made more sense here"

Really nice write-up.

Jason Taylor had great things to say about him when we drafted him, so I expect Jordan to improve his pass rush on the edge, and he's already great at coverage....the only question mark is defending the run, as the article points out. This is a concern, as teams that killed us with TE play are now starting to also fall in love with the run game again. (Did you ever think you'd see NE ground and pound last year, for example?) In that respect, to some degree Jordan may always be a situational guy. But on the flip side...coverage is the new black, it seems, and Jordan creates coverage sacks as good as anybody. I can see why the Eagles want him in their 3-4.

The need for a great defense was underlined in the Superbowl, and despite the obvious O line talk with Miami, don't be surprised if in round one Hickey goes defense, if the right player is available, then guard or tackle in round two. I think it all depends on who's there when we pick, not unlike what happened to Ireland, who was planning on drafting on offense until it became apparent that he could get Jordan. Remember...he said the entire room wanted Jordan, not just him.

Having said that, if Martin is still on the board then we'll probably pick him, because he plays both guard and tackle. If Martin is off the board then anything goes.

How about moving Misi to MLB, Ellerbe and Jordan outside. We still need a stud MLB, won't hurt my feelings if we go there in the first round. 2nd BPA at G.
