okay guys lets here who you think will win and why. I went 4-0 last week so I'll start things off:

Colts over Steelers
too much offense for Pitt to handle, don't beleive the hype about the Colts being out of sink. they will get ahead early and get a large lead which will make the Steelers throw the ball alot and the Colts defense has a good pass rush which will make things hard on Big Ben

Pats over Broncos
beleive it or not the Pats will make a run for the SB, they are peaking at the right time due to being healthy for once. they have a great defense which will take the run away from the Broncos and make Plummer win the game. We all know about Plummer and in this game the true Plummer will again show himself by throwing multiple INTs which will lose the game for Denver

Bears over Panthers
The Bears have the best defense in the NFL and are so good because they have the corners to play man coverage on any WR in the league. Steve Smith is maybe the best WR in the league but he won't be a factor with Delhomme spending most of this game on the ground. The Bears do infact have an offense with Grossman at the helm. and with this defense they don't need much to win games

Redskins over Seahawks
The Seahawks are indeed overrated. Take Alexander off of this team and they aren't good at all and that is what this very good Redskins defense will do. The Redskins offense will be back and playing well after last week's horrible performance, they played a top five D which is alot better than this Seahawks D

bump, come one guys let's here em

Colts over Steelers - steelers suck in domes colts don't! indy gets a lead prevents pittsburgh running 30 times forcing roethlisberger to win the game... he doesn't!

Broncos over Pats - Head says pick the Pats but i just have a hunch the donkeys win here

Panthers over Bears - Chicagos incompetent offense falters hell if tiki barber can't get yards i don't fancy thomas jones chances, this one could go either way probably decided by no more than 7

Redskins over Seahawks - Skins have great spped at linebacker and a solid interior line which should minimise alexanders running room, washington meanwhile rides portis to victory

colts over steelers - just a repeat of what happened earlier in the year, pittsburgh did not impress me in the first half of the cincy game.

bronco's over pats - this is where it goes all messed up for NE, it gonna be the beggining of the end for them, but this match will be a tough shootout with the bronco's winning by less than 7 points. if it were in foxboro, NE would win.

panthers over bears - the panther will have great momentum going into the next game and IMO will make the superbowl.

seahawks over redskins - this ones a no-brainer, the redskins showed little offence last week and they will struggle against the seahawks defence. however, the redskins will also play tough defence andkeep the skins in the game throughout. seahawks win by 10

Dude...Plummer's had 2 of 3 seasons with only 7 picks...this IS the true Plummer now...and last time agaisnt the Patsies his QB rating was 134...New England's defense is VERY mediocre against the pass and we run on just about everybody...178 on the ground in the last meeting we had with them. Denver is 11-2 at home in the playoffs...and has the highest home field winning percentage in the NFL since 1973. No way the Patsies beat my Broncs. Check out the sorry NE pass defense...

Attempts per game: 20th
Yards per game: 31st
Yards per completion: 32nd
Pass Completion percentage: 4th
TD passes: 28th
Interceptions: 28th
Sacks: 23rd
1st downs by pass: 22nd
Completions over 20 yards: 31st
Completions over 40 yards: 31st

Also...the Broncs own New England. We've been whippin' their tails for decades...in good times and bad.

Denver 31 New England 20...Bank it.:D

My picks are almost night and day different then yours...:)

I was 3-1 last week (damn Bucs).

Steelers at Colts:

The Colts have not played anything resembling a meaningful game in a month. They are good, but not good enough to turn it on and off at will. Their defense, which is overrated, is banged up.

People like to point to the earlier meeting between these teams. Bill Cowher blew that game. Big Ben was playing his first game in a month and was clearly rusty.

I think the Steelers found themselves in the 2nd half last week. If they stick to the offensive game plan (run the football, spin the clock) and the defensive gameplan (blitz Manning, stop Edge, don't bite on playaction) they can win this game...that's why I'm picking them.

In the end I can also point to Peyton Manning's less then stellar record in playoff games.

Steelers 27 Colts 24

Patriots at Broncos

I think this will be the best game of the weekend. The Broncos are the quietist #2 seed in my memory. Their defense is top notch and the offense can be potent.

They are playing the most clutch team I've ever seen though. The Broncos won't be able to run the ball at all. The Patriot front 7 is healthy and dominant right now.

The Pat's have not been able to run the ball all year.

This means a battle of the Q.B.'s...I'll take Tom Brady in ANY Q.B. battle.

Patriots 21 Broncos 20

Panthers at Bears

The Bears have a great defense, great special teams and a darn good running game. All the ingredients that win at "playoff time". Rex Grossman is VERY inexperienced though and I suspect he'll be asked at some point to make a few plays. The Bears can not hope to win this game 3-0.

The Panthers looked like the best team in football last week. They confused and dominated a young Q.B., stuffed one of the best runners in football, ran the football better then they have all year and put up points....something the Bears can't do.

Panthers 20 Bears 6

Redskins at Seahawks

The Redskins looked dominant at times against a decent Buc offense last week. That being said, they put up HORRID numbers offensivly.

Now they travel cross country and play a rested Seahawk team. The Redskin defense is quite good but the Seahawk offense is VERY good. The Seahawk defense can make someplays as well.

The home field in this instance cannot be overlooked. Seahawk stadium is a very tough place to play and the Seahawks have been dominant at home the last few years. I think they walk over the Redskins.

Seahawks 35 Redskins 10

colts
denver
carolina
seattle

THEN

denver and carolina

denver wins

I was 4 for 4 last week.

This week I got;

Colts over Squealers

Panthers over Bears

Hawks over Skins

Broncos over Pats

what? a year ago Plummer had 20 INTs and nevermind his 1 pick to every TD ratio over his career. look, one good year or even two good years out of three does not mean this is the new Plummer. He threw 20 or more picks in 5 of his 9 NFL seasons, that is the real Jake Plummer and the real Plummer will show himself especially with Belichek planning against him. The Pats defense is now very different from how they have been all year, the Broncos don't have much of a chance. NE will hold Denver to less than 21 points and that will be enough with Tom Brady on offense. Your biased, but you should know that Plummer hasn't changed. When you make Plummer throw alot, he will make mistakes. the only difference this year is that the Broncos have put Plummer in sort of a caretaker position and rely on the run so Plummer doesn't have to do it all.

I must say that the only way I see the NFC winning the SB is if the Bears go

Steelers over Colts: Big upset? Not really. Pitt has the perfect formula to beat the Colts. A solid defense and a time killing, defense pounding, running game and a QB who makes few mistakes. Indy may pull this one out, but whoever does - it will be close.

Broncos over the Pats: Pats are running into an offense that will outscore them. The Pats string of playoff wins, and good fortune, comes to an end.

Panthers over the Bears: The Bears offense is terrible. Their defense is good, and will keep the game close. But the Panthers offense will bounce back and will want to prove to the Bears that they can't shut them down twice. Panthers win a close one.

Seahawks over Redskins: The Redskins were lucky to pull off a win at Tampa Bay last week. It took some mistakes by the young Chris Simms to seal it for them. IT was more what Tampa DIDN'T do than what the Redskins DID do. Not this time. This one won't even be close. Seahawks in a route.

Colts over Steelers 27-13
The colts offensive attack is well rested. The steelers should be able to contain Edge, but because of Edge i think half the time the steelers will put 8 men in the box which means a field day for Peyton. The colts defense showed me alot this year and i think they will give Big Ben a really hard time.
Peyton 16/22 259yds 2 tds 0 int
James 21att 73yds 1 td
Harrison 7cat 110yds 1 td
Stokley 3cat 58yds 1 td

Ben 13/27 176yds 2 int
Bettis 9att 39yds 1td
Ward 5cat 87yd

Broncos over Patriots 28-24
The hardest game to choose, i think the secondary for the patriots is just to depleted and jake has a good day. The game will come down to the very end
Jake 20/29 311yds 3tds 1int
Anderson 18att 76yds 1td
Smith 9cat 139yds 2td
Lelie 4cat 80yds 1td

Brady 17/31 222yd 2td 1int
Dillon 15att 81yd 1td
Branch 4cat 68yd 1td

Panthersover Bears 14-10 best game of the week
A defensive struggle, in which i think the panthers can prevail, b/c steve smith will provide a big play like he has eveyr week this year.
Delhomme 13/20 168yds 1td 2int
Foster 15att 79yd 1td
Smith 7cat 100yd 1td

Grossman 12/22 154yd 0td 2int
Jones 24att 101yd 1td
Muhammad 3cat 45yd

Seahawks over Redskins 34-14
The skins defense has played good this season, but they won't be able to contain the league MVP.
Hasselback 19/29 289yd 2td 1int
Alexander 22att 148yd 2td
Jackson 5cat 78yd 1td

Brunell 13/24 169yd 1td
Portis 14att 71yd 1td
Moss 4cat 99yd 1td

I'm surprised that alot of you have the Panthers beating the Bears, most of you say so because you don't think the Bears have much of an offense. But the Bears have Grossman at QB and with him they have an offense. The Bears have a good running attack with Jones who got over 1300 yards rushing this season. Grossman can play well when he is heathly and right now he is. The way the Bears are is that they run on offense to control the clock which keeps their defense fresh and their defense dominates games. The Panthers won't do anything on the #1 defense in the NFL. this game is low scoring but the Bears will score a couple of TDs which will be good enough to win
