I was interested to read that a number of Australian Rugby League clubs are testing all their players and prospective players DNA. They are identifying the attributes of the elite athletes from the not so-elite. They are able to identify which players need more rest and which players have the capacity to train a lot harder, etc.
Is this sort of detailed scientific analysis conducted in the NFL? When Matt Roth failed his physical, I read where the Dolphins are monitoring many aspects of the players' condition. Are they doing the sort of DNA testing that the Aussie rugby league teams are into? Maybe this is something for consideration in the future?
