I dont get it. Was just watching total access and this guy ((Waddle) I have only seen him on total access a couple times - he isnt the regular anaylst) just predicted the Jets to run all over us. His reasoning was we were last in the league against the run LAST year (which he would be correct on), BUT, and with all bias aside, you have to be a complete jackass and know NOTHING about NFL football if you compare the 2007 dolphins defense to the 2008 dolphins defense.

Last years defense was riddled with injuries. Through week 12 or 13 we started 12 different starters on D at any various position due to injuries. Its safe to say if you are starting back-ups every week, your not going to be very good at stopping the run. This year we have NO injuries, to much of our surprise. Even a bigger reason you cant compare the 2, we have 11 new faces on defense including 4 - 5 brand new starters.

Now heres the bias; all preseason stats aside, (Just to mention which we were 2nd in the league in 2 different categories), the defense showed that intangible fire during the preseason. They played with an intensity that we did not see last year.. So my point, how do these morons compare the 2007 dolphins defense with the 2008 dolphins defense... You cant!

Cause what you said in your last paragraph, they are morons.

I saw that piece. He obviously has not done his homework and studied the offseason of the Phins.
His entire assessment of the Phins was based on the 2007 team.
By listening to his cursory analysis you would never know there was a FO change, coaching change or upgrade of the roster.

Total Access is the only NFL media outlet I watch. ESPN I dont bother with anymore. This guy didnt even look at the damn roster. All he had to do was go to NFL.com and look at the depth chart too see we are not the same team as last year. If I cant trust NFL network, I cant trust anyone. :shakeno:

Well if going off last year I guess the Jets will suck because they were 4-12. Or does getting one old guard, one OLB, one DT and one QB makes you a superbowl contender, because if that's the case we're gonna be contenders too with even more and better offseason pickups.
And does that mean Clevelands the favourite!!

It's pure stupidity when listening to this crap, our season will be full of tight exicting ball games and hopefully with some luck we'll come out on top more often then not.

Those so called experts only go by last year stats to make predictions. They don't follow the Dolphins every move like we do. We know what is happening, we see the change. The media have a love thirst for Brett Favre so that's all they are going on. Just 2 years ago they were saying Brett should retire, now after one good year all of sudden the so call experts are saying Brett still got it. I don't listen to the so called experts I watch the games myself. I see the difference in this years team and today they will show the world!!!

It's called research and apparently NFL analyists don't have to do it. They make me sick. If this is your job then spend time researching the stuff your talking about for crying out loud.
