Why would you bring in Chad P and pay him that kid of money for him to be a back up. I meam don't gey me wrong i love the way rookie Chad is playing. But he has yet to throw a touckdown

Who said that was the case? There are no concrete answers about who is starting as the QB.

You bring him in at whatever price you have to pay, because as a starter or a backup he is a major upgrade. But you still have to be true to your word. If you tell your players it is an open competition and then you just make Penny your starter without a process then your a liar. I still feel Penny will be the starter but if Henne beats him out then how can that be a bad thing?? We pretty much know what we have in Penny, but Henne maybe the next Brady for all we know at this point. Penny has known shortcommings that make it awefully easy to game plan against. Our running game will suffer if penny is the QB. No deep ball means safties can cheat up without getting burned. He is a solid game manager but so was Fielder. In many ways Penny reminds me of him. We were good back then but not great. Penny is a upgrade but not the answer. Henne may not be either, but lets wait and see.

can we please let the d@mn front office make a decision, before these ridiculous threads are even brought up, we are 2 weeks into preseason for gods sake.

i agree with lefthanded

btw chad p was brought in to help henne learn the system watch next year it will be henne starting and penny back up

that is 'the plan' right now. But if Pennington grinds out a decent season I can see henne sit another year.

Barring him suddenly forgetting the entire playbook, I think he'll likely be starting for us and that Sparano may just be using the Henne comments to motivate both players to try and be the best they can (Chad P. to keep the starting spot and Henne to win it). Pennington has a lot of value as a mentor to Henne, but will be given the chance to be our offense's leader while letting Henne ease into the job. Henne COULD possibly start, but I think he would need to show exceptional grasp of the offense AND Chad P. would have to break a leg or two. Hope if Henne wins the starting job its only because he was the better QB and that Chad P. stays healthy this year. Hated Pennington as a Jet for carving up our defense, but very glad to have him here under center for Miami:woot:

terrible thread... i dont think there is any doubt that chad p. wont be starting this season... my guess mccown gets released.... pennington starts at least the first 8 weeks this season......if not in playoff contention henne finishes off season

Best guy should start regardless, the other, a high quality backup, which is so important with how quickly these guys can get hurt.........There, that solves it.....

Chad P is the starter no doubt about it. After week 8 if we are doing bad then Henne will get the start.

Because he isnt the backup. He is the starter.
