Do the bills scare you?

I wonder how long this Bills team can stay together before their cap blows. They have spent a LOT of money the last couple of years.

No.

Chan Gailey is their coach.

They'll start 3-1, everyone will have them dethroning the Patriots, and then they'll finish 8-8. Who cares.

the dolphins have had only 1 season in the last 6 seasons where they finished better than 7-9 (yes i know its pathetic)

so while you're pimping the dolphins, you think the Bills will finish with a better record than Miami has had just once in the last 6 seasons.

gotcha .

Envy and rotten fish smell very similar
Its a nice thread title but I am puzzled at the same time.
Do the fins think they will have a good team this year?
You need a thread that asks if the Jets scare you. You will be competing with them for 3rd place after all.

LMAO like the Bills will do anything. I can't wait until people see Tannehill destroy the overhyped Bills D.

Your entire board knows what the Bills are capable of.
But I will humor you. What is it about the fins that makes you believe they are a contender

We got Tannehill baby. LOL, I would take a RC QB over Ryan Pisspatrick any day. Young starts by game 4.

Scared?? Pfft...Jim Kelly is not walking through that door. Thurman Thomas is not walking through that door, either. Neither is Bruce Smith.

....F the bills.

I see the Bills this year the way I saw Miami the last few years. A team w/ talent that has some key questions in key spots. I expect Buf will be a playoff contender for a good portion of the season if not all of it but I want to see Ryan Fitz and this team play in and win big games before I get worried. I am concerned, they are assembling a nice team but I still feel they are behind us talent wise, coaching wise and experience wise. That doesn't mean we are guaranteed to finish ahead of them but I feel pretty confident.

Williams is not an elite player, he is a quality pass rusher but not one of the best.

Most of mark Anderson's 10 sacks came in garbage time, there's a reason NE had plenty of cap space and opted to allow Anderson to leave.

W/ that said those moves improve the Bills D but they still have secondary concerns and LB concerns but that DL should be really, really good especially if Dareus steps up this year and Williams is healthy.

Wow are you confident. The Jets are going to be a dumpster fire this year. They have one great player on their defense and a good offensive line and that is it. All three teams, Miami, Buffalo, and NY can finish in any order after New England. I would be surprised if the Jets win more than 7 games.

Actually, the Bills are in good shape with the cap. There is something to be said for having bean-counters running your team for a lot of years. It makes your team pretty good at dealing with the cap when you finally get "football guys" running it.

Unlike some teams that backload their contracts so they can sign lots of big names all at once to impress the media and fans, the Bills like to frontload theirs so that the bulk of the guaranteed money is paid early in the contract, so players become "cheaper" against the cap as their contracts go on, and they don't get stuck with a lot of "dead cap" money if they release a player. Because they use front-loaded contracts, when they cut a player like Drayton Florence, the money is all freed up because he was paid all his guaranteed money early on.

They came into the 2012 FA season with something like $25-30 million available to spend, and they still have some room to sign a modestly priced FA or two in addition to their rookies. The only really big contract they have is Mario Williams. Fitzpatrick's contract is actually in line with what teams expect to pay for a mid-range starting QB.

In a word...yes...

The biggest weakness they have is whether Fitzy is guy for them or not...they have improved on paper, particularly on D and Chan Gailey can run an offense. I still think they worry which Fitzpatrick is going to be throwing the ball though...

well they just signed vince young. That isn't all that scarey is it.

super mario didnt make the Houston texans finally a playoff team. Peyton Manning on the sidelines did.

Bills are gonna be a decent team this year. I just hope we have a better record than them stinkin' JESTS
