Hunter is a career backup who sucked as a starter and Ducasse as a sophomore couldn't even put him on the bench. On many teams, Slauson wouldn't start. Moore is 32 and on the downside of his career. That leaves only Mangold and Ferguson as two bonafide top notch talents. The ability of the Jests' starting OL is pretty limited.
I think that a fan of a team with a QB duo as good as Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow really ought not to disparage any other team's QBs. Just sayin'.
As for the Bills many holes, they filled some of them and made moves to fix others. Signing Williams and Anderson will hopefully give the Bills a pass rush without blitzing for the first time in a decade. They added another young CB to their secondary in Gilmore, and a burner WR in Graham through the draft. The Bills took 3, count 'em, 3!, OLers in the draft, including 2 OTs. Nobody knows how rookies are going to really turn out, but the Bills certainly put an effort into improving.
The Jests' OL has a lot more problems than just RT. The Hunter/Ducasse debacle was like the canary in the coal mine, and the Jests did nothing to alleviate any of their problems except to draft a guard in the 6th round. Best pray that your starters stay healthy, especially Mangold, and that Tony Sparano is a better OC than he was a HC.
What holes did the Jests fill exactly? Being limited in cap space, they did little in FA. They re-signed Pouha but they let their best backup OLer, Turner, walk. They did sign a real backup QB, but then they traded him when they traded for Circus Tebow. They did draft a WR in the second, but that's equivalent to the Bills drafting Graham. Neither team has a proven veteran for the #2 position. Shonn Greene is still the starting RB. Now you may think he's the greatest runner since OJ Simpson, but nobody is going to mistake him for Fred Jackson, Marshawn Lynch or Willis McGahee much less Adrian Peterson or Ray Rice. First round draft pick, Coples, will likely bolster the defense -- if he's willing to go all in. There were some serious concerns about him on this matter, which is why he fell.

And when his team needs him to carry it in order to win, Sanchez fails. He failed in both AFCCGs and he failed down the stretch last season. If the defense and the running game don't dominate, Sanchez can't either.
What Bills fans have done either? Nobody is pretending Ryan Fitzpatrick is other than a competent starting QB. Mario Williams doesn't have to be Bruce Smith or Reggie White in order to handle Wayne Hunter, and that's more because of how bad Hunter is rather than how good Williams is.

I think the Fins can be better than most think, especially if they let Tannehill sit and go with Moore as their QB. The defense is solid, the OL looks like it could be a strength, and Reggie Bush can be a real weapon. Depending upon Philbin's philosophy, the lack of big name WRs may not be as much of a handicap as the world seems to think it is. Somebody unexpected may emerge, which is how the Bills found Stevie Jackson who wasn't even a starter before 2010.

Hunter worried me but while he is a career backup I did see him play extensively and play well for the most part in our title game run 2 years ago. My hope is he plays more like that but I am concerned.
Slauson is a quality starter as is Moore. Slauson was playing hurt most of the season and Moore missed all of camp and preseason off an injury. Both should be healthy entering 2012. That will be huge.
Not many OL's have 2 guys like Brick and Mangold and remember Mangold wasn't healthy after the first game or so. Guys will get banged up but if the Ol can remain relatively healthy I expect major improvement.
Mark Sanchez and Tim tebow both have playoff wins undre their belt, Ryan Fitzpatrick has never played in a big game in his entire career let alone a playoff game. The closest was that jet game in OP last year where he was brutally bad.
The Jets had cap sapce to play w/, they chose not to spend it. The holes the Jets had entering FA were RT, WR, S, LB. They drafted Hill at WR, they signed Landry at S and drafted 2 more guys, they drafted Davis at LB who will play right away and help this team. The team also wanted to get faster on D and w/ Coples & davis they got faster.
Holes we still have? RT, we could use a project OLB to take over for Thomas and/or Pace soon but we are ok there for this year. It all comes down to the RT, if Hunter, Ducasse or a late pickup can play solid football this OL can be a top OL again and the O will be more than good enough.
If you think the Jets brought in tebow for headlines I don't know what to tell you. bad headlines ruin teams, coahces, GMs, players. if they though this would be bad for the team they wouldn't have done it. Favre was a headline guy but a durable QB in place of our old not durable QB so it made some sense(though I never liked that trade) but this one was not made specifically for headlines. headlines are earned w/ wins.
Sanchez played well in both title games, he brought the Jets back from 24-0 down w/ no run game at Pitt. Our D failed us both times. Sanchez has had games rest on his shoulders many times and has come through more often than he has failed.
You guys are acting like Buf is a playoff lock and a future dynasty, you guys acted the same way last September then disappeared for some reason. Buf is clearly better on paper this year than last but they still have work to do.
Only here would a thread about the Bills turn into the Jets. Why don't the Patriots ever get love on here? We need a Pats troll to make things even

Your head coach is a butt head. Your OC is a Dolphins reject. Your best QB will be on special teams. Your cheerleaders are fat. You missed the playoff and we probably miss again this year. yet we have a better HC, your HC reject is our OC not our HC, our 2 best QBs will be better than your starters, you may have the edge at cheerleader though, your team hasn't made the playoffs since 2008 and hasn't won a playoff game since 2000. I've been here for 8 years, the rare times Miiami has been better I tipped my cap, when it happens again(maybe by 2020?) I'll tip my cap again. Good luck.

Which Bills fans are acting like Buffalo is a "playoff lock and a future dynasty"? None of us Bills fans who have posted on this thread, that's for sure. What we are is cautiously optomistic that our team has turned the corner ... finally.
You need to stop assuming that the Jests are all that great. They aren't. Last season they came within 1 dropped, not defended but dropped, TD pass from not only splitting with the Bills but also from having the very same 7-9 record as the Bills. There's only 1 big dog in the AFCE, and the Jests aren't it. Any of the also-rans can beat any of the other also-rans.

Pretty much all of you guys, I get some of it is in jest but you guys are acting like you are a lock to finish ahead of us.
Did Johnson drop that pass? did we beat you? We can all play the what if game but all that matters is what actually happens and despite the Jets having a bad year we were still 2 games better and swept you again.
The Jets were the best team in the division in '09 & '10, last year they weren't close. Don't lump an actual contender in recent years in w/ teams that haven't competed for the playoffs like Buf & Miami.
