http://www.miamiherald.com/616/story/101261.html We are here today to speak up on behalf of the downtrodden and the forgotten. We raise a plaintive, imploring voice for those who have overcome great pain but yet are made to suffer still. For those who have wronged and paid their debt and yet watch as society turns its back.

Well, OK, maybe not society. But Cam Cameron, anyway.

Give Daunte Culpepper and Ricky Williams a chance, Dolphins!

Not since we gave peace a chance back in the late '60s has a chance made as much sense or been as worthy of a supporting picket sign.

Miami's new NFL bossdom seems ready to part ways with both Culpepper and Williams before giving either talented star an opportunity to prove himself all over again and help an offense that needs it … and if this were even an inch more outrageous we could expect Al Sharpton stampeding the team's Davie headquarters with a bullhorn.

I think we should give them another shot. Didn't Wayne Huizenga say a couple of months ago that he wants to listen to fans input? Well, if most of us agree that we want them to have another shot then maybe we should petition.

We would be crazy not to give Daunte and Ricky a chance. I doubt that Daunte can become the real deal, but, with good coaching, you never know, stranger things have happened. He does have a canon for an arm and there is the small possibility that he could learn to be a pocket passer.

Ricky, geez, how can anyone not want Ricky back.

GO PHINS~!

As of now, Culpepper is our starting QB, so depending on how long this whole Trent Green drama plays out, I'd say there is still a good chance that he'll be here opening day.

It seems that Cameron wants no part in the carnival show that is Ricky Williams. Seeing as how he has expressed little to no interest in bringing him back, coupled with the fact that we spent a third round pick on Lorenzo Booker leads me to believe he will be another St. Louis Dolphin.

i agree! i would love to see them both back on the field with a dolphins uniform. Daute had a good shot when he started but i believe he will be the player he once was, he just needs another chance where he is 100% healthy. Its a difficult situation if he is not ready for trainning camp. He needs to practice with the team and gain the chemistry to be succesful. And Ricky, Come on!!! He is a beast, in 2002 he was one of the top 3 running backs in the league. Him and ronny would be a nightmare to any defence.

I hope they do get a chance i am gonna be disappointed if they don't.

We're a Ronnie B injury away from no running game, so yeah, I want Ricky back. Especially with that contract and all those kids to feed.

It would be dumb not to just give them a chance. If they can make the team, great. If they cannot, then we've lost nothing at this point. Last season, yes we did lose. But thats in the past.

Let them have a try out. Why not?

On their poll 66% of the fans want Daunte and Ricky back. If Mueller trades or cuts either of them there are going to be a lot of angry finfans

glad to see all the positive posts i agree how can anyone not want rickey back. daunte deserves a shot if healthy, and the dolphins should give him a chance to get healthy

I really want Ricky to be back here as well. We need depth at the running back position, he is cheap and well we all know he is Ricky Williams. An absolute force when he is on the field.

DC. Well it is probably no secret these days how I feel about that situation.
No need to be repetitive this evening.

Ricky is a risk, but a worth move because of his great potential and low cost.
There should be no problem for Cameron to use this kind of talent in his schemes. With Ricky, play load can be balanced avoiding injuries and adding versatility. So I see no reason for cutting him. I think it's a smart attitude from both Mueller and Cameron, because they want to give a firm message for every guy in our roster that discipline and correct behavior are very important. Also they work with the actual roster, those who can be on every activity like training camps, mini camps, try outs, etc. So they have him planned as a matter only when NFL reinstate him, so given that event, then they'll contact him to evaluate if they can trust him as part of this team.

Daunte is harder to evaluate.
First his knee is far from ready and a hurried rehab may lead into another waste of time with big injury risking.
Another approach (and perhaps the most important) is Culpepper has ever developed under West Coast Offense (WCO) systems, and adapting for a distinct, complicated Coryell-like system can take more time than rehab itself.
This justify everybody who emphasizes on Culpepper depending on his physical skills over any discipline or mastering of any system.
Of course we aren't talking about chess, so physical is very important, but under an offensive scheme based on timing, synchronization and selecting plays of a very extensive playbook, requires more than just an athletic player.
This is why Green looks as the most obvious starter (if somehow hired) and Daunte seems to have no hope. The only way (a very unlikely situation) would be that DC accepts this as a complete change, starting by a restructure of his current contract (driving it into incentives), in order to bring some salary cap mobility. This will show a sincere effort to keep as a Dolphin, giving him the time to learn the system from Trend while finishing his knee recovering. The unlikeness of this, is it requires a huge humility from Daunte, and keeping a low ego is not what we may expect of such a competitive guy.

This is not a two talented guys question. One guy is talented---Ricky. The other is needing some one to push him to be a professional quarterback. Daunted is not an overly talented quarterback. He is a physically gifted athlete, but not the greatest quarterback.

If we can get anything for either of them from some team, or packaged together, then take whatever we can get. RopeWeed may have some game left in him, CPep is done.
