Do the Fins already have the next Miles Austin/Victor Cruz?

I think the point is that you have 4-5 good, solid receivers instead of 1-2 really darn good ones and 2-3 fair to poor ones. That way you cannot cover all of them and 1-2 of them are bound to get open. Revis and Cromartie can't cover4-5 receivers between the two of them. Make sense???

One nice plus is that Clay looked very good catching the ball. He may become a big factor this year with no Marshall wanting every ball.

Hopefully Gates can be a ted ginn with hands, but thats a long shot for him to get us 700+ yards.. Moore? He had one big play ever, has some iffy hands.. Wallace could be decent but probably too slow and he may not create enough constant seperation. Pruitt? Nah, been on the PS for a couple years now, looks to be a good ST guy though.

I think your potential good WRs are Gates/Wallace, but you cannot bet on that. I'm sure we will get a WR, but who and when? In the 4th? No, we need one high. Someone that can come in and be a good target to rely on when you need a play. I don't care if the WCO is based on the whole core or not, you need a play maker. Remember those defenses that doubled marshall every game? Well thats gonna go somewhere else now, either an insane rush that our mediocre o-line can't handle, or locking up Bess/Hartline to where they can't even get a look. We are also banking on a rookie WR to replace a guy that demanded double teams.
About Roberto Wallace, he is probably the best athlete in the NFL. 6'5, 4.4 40, and a 37 inch vert. If he develops fully, he could be the best WR in the NFL. Now I wouldn't put money on him developing fully, but it doesn't hurt to see.

I rather have someone like WES WELKER. Smaller, very quick, great route runner, knows how to get open, and catches every ball.

He is perfect for WCO.

We got a second round pick for Welker. who did we draft with that pick and was it worth it?

We drafted C Satele and DE Abraham Wright in the 7th. Wasnt worth it. I have seen many comparisons to Welker in this years WR prospect Devon Wylie. Would be a nice late rd pick

Wylie is among the receivers invited to Miami for pre-draft workouts. This is a great year if a team needs wrs in the draft. Very deep class.

He may be athletic but there are plenty of big guys with stats like that. For example, Calvin Johnson.

Problem is Wallace is a good athlete just not a good wide receiver. the NFL is littered with these guys that get way overrated because of this. Wallace couldnt even excel at SD st much less the nfl.

I agree which is why I think its ridiculous to say he may be the best athlete and he could turn into the best wr. If any of that were true we should've seen evidence of that by now

I didn't read this whole thread so I don't know if anyone posted something like this, in order to have those guys on our roster turn out to be as good as some of those WR's that nobosy knew before you'll need one thing to help them become that good. AN NFL REAL STARTING QB.

Ozzy rules!!

fgrocker!!! Don't say stuff like that in here.. You will get crushed by "Negative and Pessimistic fans"

My concern is that - Who can beat, get seperation from Revis/Cromartie (Jets), McGEE and Florence (Bills) and Kyke Arrington/McCourty (Pats) on a regular basis twice a year???

When we had a guy like Marshall, the defense had to double team, roll a safety on his side and account for him all the time on the field which opened up Reggie Bush and the running game.. I'm not sure Hartline, Roberto Wallace, and Bess scares them that much....
In fact WCO is based on "making the best from less". They won't go for 20+ yards on every play, but move for 5-10 at each play, so you don't need an stellar WR to beat out the defense. But you need WR with safer hands to make the catch with the defender breathing in his neck.

So after dumping Brandon Marshall, let's focus on upgrading TE & RB, because we're loaded at the type of WR required to catch short yardage cannonballs. Of course we could add a different player, one who can complete any pass while being able to add several yards after catch. I think many prospect could be a few reps away of fitting such profile.

Love all the analysis that Change makes all our players about 5 notches better ... where change usually knocks everyone down a couple notches.

We'll get better when we get some talent ... not until!! Don't care what system you run on either side of the ball.
