The Dolphins find themselves in a very strange situation, they have some very good offensive weapons, but are without a number one receiver or tight end.

I’m not trying to take anything away from Charles Clay or Mike Wallace, they are two very good players capable of producing elite level performances, but they can’t do it as much as a good number one receiver or tight end.

Charles Clay had his big games for sure but when the Dolphins went through their two slumps (4 game losing streak and a 2 game losing streak) he averaged four catches a game with about 9.5 yards per catch, he also had three TDs over the six games. Clay had games he would disappear, he is a great part of the offense, but he needs to be complemented with a good second tight end who can put up consistent numbers.

The Dolphins need to find someone who can be a consistent threat and put up 11 TDs a season. If the Dolphins could find someone who could put up 11 TDs, they would be right in the top ten among receivers in 2013.

Weather it is a tight end or wide receiver, the Dolphins need to find someone who doesn’t disappear for weeks or even months at a time.

I have said it many times, the Dolphins have a lot of good players but none are great, atleast not yet. They will never make the playoffs with these players. Think of the Miami Dolphins, well for the past 5yrs as your sexy girlfriend who comes over, makes out with you and then leaves you with "blue foot"ball".

As far as TE and WR go, this draft is where to get them, i'll throw a big time running back in there as well.

Ebron and Mason would make my day.

Big bodied red zone threat and running game = playoff team

Not enough right now. Still need to solidify the line as well as get the RBs figured out. It also wouldn't hurt to get a seem threat TE.

we cant cross midfield without upgrading o-line first, hopefully.we will be in better position next year to draft playmakers. We can get our franchise back this year in 2nd rd. mlb in third.bpa after that. Then next year we can upgrade receiving crew

Check the draft forum for Ebron..I asked the question about his blocking ability, think there is some qustions there. They might look to a more well rounded tight-end. Just a thought.

Wallce, Clay, Tannehill, Hartline, Gibson, Matthews (gibson and matthews are our big bodies) and i see dion sims coming into his own this year, and now that we're fixing our line, I see Miller becoming more of a threat! Agree or disagree, Tannehill and Wallace will become better with a year under their belt together. Also Gibson coming back is huge, he was doing awesome before he went down!

Between Wallace, Hartline, Gibson, Matthews, and Clay, we're adequate in pass catchers. What we need is a running back, and better overall protection.

I'm in NC. I've seen the kid play. If he's available and we pass on him - especially for a lineman, it would be a huge mistake. We have other TE's that need to learn to block.

Was just curious what others thought about his blocking ability. I agree that could be Simms role but you don't want to tip your hand always that when he is in run, Ebron pass etc. I am all for a playmaking red-zone TE though, a player than can cause mismatches. Could be very interesting with Gibson and everyone else back hopefully healthy.

Not even close to being enough, especially with two key contributors coming off major knee surgery and a questionable backfield. God help these morons if they fail to draft yet another receiver in the rounds that matter, considering how much talent there is.

As far as Ebron is concerned, I question his abilities for what we need given his abysmal lack of TD production.

The offense can be good to great with the players now. If it is to be elite the line must improve and it needs a seem/red zone threat. A big bodied RB would help as well.
