Can these numbers be ignored?

"Oh, but he's so little!"; "He can't pass and hit a barn!"; "He can't get out from under center!"; "He's a rookie, Henne has experience!"; "He's not NFL tough!"; "He hasn't proven himself!"; "It was a wasted pick!"

Can you ignore this kids success in college and come up with some sort of argument against even giving him a chance? Two or three plays a game doesn't count as a 'chance' guys. Are you going to start screaming at this post in capital letters, because you are tired of hearing about him? Go back and look at the stats again and calm down. There's a reason he is causing such animosity with Henne fans.

Is it just me? What is there to lose? I don't gamble but it seems, at this point, it's worth the gamble. Why are some of you scared at the idea of putting him in? I'm at a loss except for possible stubbornness and just argumentative tendencies.

I think Henne is our guy but White is a great player. He will do things for us for a while hopefully. Also will be an awesome backup if Henne ever goes down.

His passing stats read 0-2, until that gets better playing time will be limited.

In a word, "NO". Henne is our QB, he is light years ahead of White in his development. Stop trying to start a QB controversy when there isn't one. White may have been a good college QB but he is no where prepared to start in the NFL.

College stats don't warrant any start in the NFL. This is a different game. Let's hope White develops (in the background) into an NFL QB, otherwise we wasted a 2nd round pick.

I think once Henne and White get a good feel for the game, (let's not forget they're both still young, still learning) we will have a great 2 QB system.

Still not sure about QB. College production for a QB is the most difficult of all positions to translate to the NFL. There have been many qbs who have put up huge numbers in college and been terrible in the NFL, just like there have also been QBs with very average college careers who became good NFL qbs.

On top of that, with the WR's that we have on this team now, we would be throwing him to the wolves and probably destroy his confidence. I honestly believe that if Henne went down for an extended period of time, Thigpen would be the starting QB.

Speaking of our WRs, I would seriously consider giving him extended playing time at WR. IMO, he could become very good in a short period of time and he would be extremely dangerous in the open field. This is where White could really help this team the most right now.

I do not see why for one play or two put White in the wr and give the opition of doing a wr route or go behind brown get it pitch back to him and choose to run it or pass it from there. I think that can be a game changing play maybe we should save it for the NE game @ home.

In his two passes as an NFL player he has overthrown the WR by 10 yards on both occasions. Our WRs have a hard enough time catching the ball when the ball hits them in the hands and now you propose throwing in a QB that can't even get it to them?

c'mon man...

Almost every nfl player, certainly skill position players, were stars in college that put up big numbers.

Players don't break out the youtube link to prove your point.

Yes, it is just you. Although, there are probably a few other Pat White fanatics out there that confuse college success as being directly transferable to the pros. Just look at the lack of success of past Heisman winners and you will see that isn't the case.

Do you realize this amazing college QB had his mechanics changed by our coaching staff? Not a good sign to throw in a rookie who has been working on his mechanics.

Not to mention Henne has been OUTSTANDING this year. Benching Henne for White at this point would be nothing short of insanity!

Didn't Jemarcus russell win a national title? He was pretyy successful in a better football conference....whats that done for him in the NFL?

My son's favorite team is the Raiders... poor kid. I did my best dressing him in Dolphins clothes before he had a choice. Must be karma the drafted Russell.

Heck, Ryan Leaf led Washington State to the Rose Bowl for the first time 67 years, averaged over 330 yards passing per game in 32 games, threw a then PAC 10 record 33 TDs his junior year and finished 3rd in the Heisman behind Woodson and Manning. In the Pros...14 TDs, 36 Ints, 50% completion, 4-17 win/loss record.

Yes those numbers may warrant a start, but only if White can prove himself to be another viable offensive option for our promising QB to go to - considering that most of Henne's existing so-called "weapons" are doing him and his development a gross disservice. But under center, no!
