No, Jason is still a great Player and if we trade him we need to trade him to someone that has a chance at winning the super bowl and that is asking for alot for JT he is a still a great player yea but thats the #2 overall pick

Wait.....why would we want all the money involved between the two picks at the top of the round even if they would take JT for it? Which they wouldnt.

i dont think money should be an issue, trading jason would be a relief on the cap aswell, but i think your right, we can probably only get a 2nd for him

jason taylor would only net us a low 2nd or high 3rd. also, jake long is the obvious player that we will be picking to build our franchise around. a possibility can also be matt ryan, if we sign a LT via FA.

also, even if we did trade jason taylor, it wouldn't be to draft chris long. chris long is not a 3-4 OLB. so, if we traded jason taylor, probably c us move either quentin moses into the ROLB spot or draft a SLB and move joey porter to ROLB.

chris long would not be picked by mia. no way in h3ll.

Why would you draft someone projected to be a Right Tackle #1 overall? So far J. Long has not been very impressive from anything I have seen. There are a couple of Jr.'s that have proven to be much more impressive this year. And Matt Ryan, Mr. Interception? No thank you!

The player Al Groh, Parcell's trusted friend, says is the best player in college football and the 2nd best player he's ever coached has no way of being drafted by Miami? That makes sense...

There's a chance Miami goes with J. Long at #1, but to say there's no way we'll take C. Long or G. Dorsey is absurd.

:yap: You obviously have not watched film on the guy if you are comparing him to Roth (in the other thread). If we do not trade down you better prepare yourself for C.Long or Dorsey with the #1 overall pick. We are not reaching for a career RT, a questionable QB, or a mid-first round LB with that pick, no way in h3ll.

BTW here is a little breakdown on Long since you apparently know nothing about him.
2008 NFL Draft Prospect - Scouting Report:
As we all know, Chris Long is Howie Long's son. It may be too early to compare the two, but Chris is unquestionably on the right path to follow in his father's footsteps. As a sophomore, Long led his defensive line in many major statistical categories and then carried that momentum into his junior season. Long's junior year was his breakout year in the ACC, compiling 57 tackles and 4 sacks. While Long did not boast huge sack totals, he was as stout a run stopper as anyone in the country. He has great balance, tremendous handwork, and extraordinary vision along the defensive line. Long decided to return for a senior year, which appears to have been a smart move. Long was publicized as one of the best prospects at his position heading into 2007, garnering Pre-Season All-America and Pre-Season All-ACC honors. The 6'4, 280 pounder started his season off masterfully and finished it with 14 sacks, earning him the ACC Defensive Player of the Year Award. He ranked in the top 10 in nearly every defensive lineman category with the Cavaliers. Long was a coaches's All-American Selection, made the All-ACC team and was awarded the Tom Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award. On top of all the hardware he brought home, Long had his number 91 jersey retired during his last home game as a Cavalier The All-American's draft outlook looks fabulous. The 22 year old has the ability to play in any defensive scheme, but he would be an asset in a 3-4 scheme where his talents could be utilized better. Teams will see that Long was the Cavaliers' captain for his final two seasons and will take that leadership skills into consideration as well. As it is now, Long is definitely a top 5 prospect in this draft.

You don't build franchises round right tackles.
