Honestly..we can beat the Jets..but it will be tough. I think the 6 pts spread is about right. It is imperative that we put pressure on Pennington, as he makes bad throws under pressure. Shutting down Martin will be huge...but it wont be easy.

Their D is much better than Denver's so...dont look to dominate nearly as much this week. They will be stunting alot to try and confuse our O Line so discipline will be big. Also remember it will be loud in NJ..and we had 5 false starts at home..so this will be huge to stay aware. Might have to have Gus go to a silent snap count.

Where we have the edge is in coaching. Saban has already disected the Jets game films I am sure and is full aware of their tendencies. Look for us to create mismatched with Welker again alot. Their D will be amped..so I would also look for mis direction plays to take advantage of them over pursuing.

I have a feeling it will be a close one at first..as Saban looks to losen them up. But dont be suprised if he and Linehan start off no huddle and go deep to try and take the crowd out of it early.

Big, tough division game. We win this one..and folks..we are for real.

I have to agree with these points... Don't think we're going to dominate, just pulling this one out would be great!! I'd rather lose to Carolina or a non-divisional opponent, we'll see...

I just cant see Herman Edwards allowing his team to play as sloppy as that again, especially in the Jets home opener with all the expectations that team had to fall to 0-2? would be unheard of. Now, i do think the game will be very close but the Jets will manage a victory around 20-14 or something. I hope i'm wrong like i was last week :).....

We're counting on you being wrong... Saban will be constantly adjusting the secondary through the season but look for a lot of different looks from yesterday.

I don't think their will be that many points in this game. I think it will be a Defensive game, and that the O's will have a tough time putting points on the board. but I still think we'll come out on top if we are as focused as yesterday

Playing on the road is not the same as playing at home, but this team has more than enough VET players for them to be able to re-create the type of intensity we say yesterday this upcoming week.

I do not think yesterday was a fluke. IMO the offense has yet to even play well yet. When we get Ronnie Borwn going I just don't see how defenses are going to be able to stop this offense with any type of consistency.

If the offense can take what they are given by the Jets D I don't see why the Dolphin cannot have another good showing.

im a little scared the jets are gonna be pissed off and going to come out with a huge chip on thier shoulder

I'm sure Saban will prepare our guys for that, but as long as we focus, play all 4 quarters, and keep to our assignments without stupid mistakes I think we'll be fine. Plus, that chip on thier shoulder may make the Jets overplay, make mistakes, over commit when we run our reverses, and just simply fold... If we have a strong 1st quarter we might just take all the wind out of thier sails, so we can dominate them like a red headed step child the rest of the game. ;)

Kc D

In my opinion, the KC defense is not nearly as good as ours, even with Pat and Sammy in their secondary. If the offense can keep turnovers to a minimum, the defense will do the rest. Miami 17 - Jets 9.

The Jets are a good team... Its going to be our preparation.. game planning, and adjustments during the game that will give us the edge.. Aided by the fact that this is technically a brand new team (Schematically) Fiedler wont be able to give em any pointers.
We can plan for the Jets much easier than they will for us.

whoever

Whoever installed the Doplhins a six point underdog did not see either game. This team is going to bring it each week. The Jests didn't look ready to play against KC and the fish had the extraordinary help of the Florida heat true, but the Broncos were projected to be a team in the playoff mix, with the Jets being more of a maybe than Denver. I think Saban's team is going to travel well. I also think we match up favorably on both sides of the ball. I think the O-line can take another giant step forward by keeping Frerotte clean again this week. I have been a Dolphin's fan since Shula arrived from Baltimore and I haven't been this excited since he left coaching. Saban feels like the real deal, something we haven't had at the helm since Shula left.

and they are stepping up. There was a comment in Sabans press confrence about offsides penalties and he made reference to it was good to see the "team" taking action too. Here is a word we will come to love; RELENTLESS that will be us... Nick is bringing us there.

I believe we will beat the jets and we will see continued improvement in our running game.

The Jets always play us tough but we will pull out a win

Traditionally our games against the jets are always tough. I think we can pull this one off though. The jets have alot of work to do fixing their mistakes from the chiefs game before they can worry about what we will bring to the table. Add the fact that they do not know what Coach Saban will do and I predict a tough, hard fought victory. Dolphins 20, Jets 17.

Pretty good analogy, but isn't it funny that we hear and are saying things like "The Fins have the edge in coaching ???" Haven't heard that one in quite a while...

But, IF we play better than this week, make fewer mistakes and the OL opens up a few holes for Brown (and I would expect to see more of Morris, too) we have a good chance of upsetting them. The disadvantage is playing up there, but with pressure on Chad (as you said) we could have a chance...Herm will go earlier to Ears if we get some pressure and he makes a mistake or two...That could go for or against us...Honestly, even tho I've been an AJ guy, having Ears to backup Gus doesn't look too bad right now...
