I think we should

how does this draft look for RB talent?

CJ Spiller of Clemson is the best one, lightning quick, great field vision, a threat to score every time he touches the ball. Also an excellent kick returner. Miami would have to draft him in the first and he could be off the board before the team picks. Jahvid Best of Cal is pretty close, another guy who can score every time he touches the ball. I think he'll go near the end of round 1. Either one of these guys would be a terror in the wildcat. Best has been compared to Chris Johnson. Stanford's Toby Gerhart is probably a 2nd round pick. He is a power runner who will get the tough yards. Not sure about his receiving skills. Those are the guys I've seen the most of. Noel Devine is another player I'm starting to hear about more and more. I've only seen youtube footage, but he looks quick and shifty. I really think the team needs to add an explosive back pretty early.

Jonathan Dwyer reminds me of a more explosive Ronnie Brown. He'll go in the 1st or very early 2nd, though. So, I wouldn't get too excited at the prospect of us drafting him.

i would definitely not write off taking a rb in the first 4 rounds...but i probably wouldn't look at the position til the 3rd or 4th round

I think it depends on what kind of offense we plan top run next yr....the team that ran ran ran and ran some more, or the team that has been throwing the ball 40+ times a game lately....

If we're going to be a power running team, its time to get a real hard nosed pounder like Gerhart. If we plan to throw it around alot, we need to add a real speedy RB that has recieving skills.

I think that RB is a possibility because of the Ronnie Brown situation, we'll know by draft day whether or not a RB is in the mix.

Spiller won't be available when we pick, he's the best offensive player in the draft.

I love Anthony Dixon, he might be my second best RB in the draft depending on the goings on from here on out, All Star games and who comes out, Combine, etc. Dixon has much better speed than people think when they watch him and see him as a North-South runner with tremendous power. He a lot of lower body explosion.

Keiland Williams and Harvey Unga might be decent sleepers.

if we go into 2010 with Brown and Williams as our RB's that will be pure folly or bad luck

most years you can get a nice back in the 4th, I hope 2010 is like that

yeah...if you're looking for a power runner dixon is your guy

Or Jonathan Dwyer...

I realize you don't like Dwyer (no idea why)...unless you just have trouble getting a bead on him due to Paul Johnson's offense...which is understandable...

But he's as talented a runner as there is in college football when you get right down to it...

His most impressive statistic to me isn't his career 6.3 YPC average (although that's pretty damn impressive)....

To me it's the fact that he's never fumbled in his career....503 carries without one...

I like the Ronnie Brown comparison someone mentioned.....although I don't think he's quite in Ronnie's category as a pass catcher...

Nope. The NFL is changing. It's all about big plays and home runs. The spread offense is coming, etc. You need a big arm QB and some deep threats. The running game has transitioned into situational running. You still need to be able to run the ball but you need to be able to run the ball in situations such as short yardage and goal line.

You look at the Colts, Saints, Steelers, Eagles, etc., these are big play offenses that can strike quick without running the football. We need this. It's gonna become more and more tough to run the football and eat the clock only to kick field goals. It's nice to have your philosophy of football but when the league changes you have to change with it.

it's simple for me i don't like projecting the player from that offense to the nfl...

i have reservations about demarious thomas at wr also in that offense

off topic...but jason campbells career is being ruined in dc...that poor kids getting killed
