Now that Timbo looks to be done, I'm getting really concerned with our DT position. Chester is still a question mark. Zgonina is OK, but not really a legitimate starting run stuffer. All our FA pickups and draftees are really ends, even though I know Carter can play some Tackle, that's not really his natural position.
Who am I missing? What options are out there?

We probably won't really address the DT position until next years draft but right now if we can sign Traylor and still have Zognina I think we will be ok for now

So we're going to go into the season with an injured Chester, a light, typically backup Zgonina and a yet unsigned aging Traylor as our DT's? Is that really enough to even consistently field a team?

i can see us entering a serious bid in the supplemental draft for that kid from USC as things stand because we've potentially got the same hole up the middle we had last season. and as talented a group as our DEs are looking to be, if we've constantly got teams splitting us up the middle then we're facing major problems.

can someone give me the 411 on how the supplemental draft works and when it is?

essentially its a blind bids system, ie a team enters the name of a player they want and the (2006) draft choice that they are willing to pay. highest bidder wins.

draft order is chosen on a three pool lottery system. we'd be in with the rest of the teams with 6 wins or less last season.

this year's supplemental hasn't been scheduled yet.

how good is traylor ?

His name speaks for itself "Traylor". He is a giant run stuffer, he is just as good if not better than Chester Imo. The only knock on him is he is like 32 yrs old. Age is the only weakness in this run stuffer.

No. Zgonina is WAY undersized. Chester is a questionmark. To answer the question, nope.

We have Kevin Carter who can play DT/DE.... thank god. We need to sign Traylor to have Carter and Traylor play DT with Romero and maybe Chester as backups. this is good news for Vickerson as he will be getting more evaluation and consideration because of our hole at DT.

He's 35 turning 36 September... definitely something to be concerned about.
