I would think we dont have a clear cut superstar. but we got a lot of talented players that can start

CB Daniels Allen Poole Mitchell Goodman
S Allen, Cooper, Bell, Tillman, Hill

that is pretty exciting to me since we had toast howard last year

im excited about the potential that we have back there but i dont know about the deepest. I want to see them as a unit before i label them.

As of right now, not even close. We have alot of talented guys but we dont even know who our starters are going to be let alone if those guys are the best in the league. We dont have a real "shutdown", or elite corner if you would and our safeties although talented are inexperienced.(bell and allen in particular)

tampa, pitt, chicago, carolina, balitimore, jax, maybe arizona, wash, & dallas were all probably superior last year. But I like that we have a bunch of quality guys to compete in TC. Only time will tell...

Deepest? I honestly thought before the draft we had the weakest secondary in football, or at least one of them. At least with the addition of Jason Allen we have potential to be pretty good. I wouldnt go so far in saying we have the deepest. If our secondary can play good this year, our defense will be so dominate.

Sadly, I don''t think there is one guy in that group that could remotely be considered even a top 25 corner in the league.

We have alot of average players though who have experience and potential.

I watched too many Giant games last year to be sold on Allen. Him and Madison were polar opposites. Madison could still cover but couldn't tackle. allend can tackle well 9somethign we needed in our secondary last year) but he would get picked on in coverage.

YOu could say that if you mean that there is not a lot of drop off between one player to another. But we still need some stars back there to make us elite.

You dont become a "shut down" or "superstar" DB in this league until really given a chance. We have a lot of talent in our secondary that is being given a chance to prove that they can be a defensive superstar on our team. Hopefully we will have a few guys that will rise to the occasion and we will be watching the next Surtain and Madison duo.

I wouldn't go as far to say we have the deepest just right yet, but by the end of the season if all these guys buy into the program and learn how to play Saban's defense I think we might have a different view on our secondary than most have now.

I think along with having a bunch of good talented guys, we probably have the best DB coach in Saban. He'll get the most out of all of these guys and I'm confident we'll be pretty good back there. I feel we'll be pretty deap, but not sure about the "deepest"? Only time is gonna tell on that one.

I would say we got allot younger in the secondary. If i am not mistaken that was a goal of Saban's. Also The Pats and the Steelers do not have shut down corners. Yet they seem to be considered pretty good defense's.

I'm with ya on that. and Jess Alba. We really do have alot of quality depth because we've collected alot of starting quality guys to experiment with. Saban, like Belichek... will make the difference in the secondary.
