From what ive been readin on Yahoo sports they didnt even mention miami for a chance at Peterson

2. Julian Peterson, OLB, San Francisco 49ers – The clamoring for Peterson was slow going early on, with the New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals still potential destinations. Peterson's financial expectations – he's seeking a contract that would place him among the highest-paid linebackers in the NFL – could have something to do with teams failing to warm to him. Surely, there is still some consternation about the Achilles injury Peterson suffered two seasons ago. It's likely that his future will be tied to that of LaVar Arrington. Whoever signs first will be shrinking the market and free agent dollars for the other.

Lavar they mentioned us

. LaVar Arrington, OLB, Washington Redskins – The Cleveland Browns appear to have dropped out of the running, but Arrington has drawn the eyes of more than a dozen teams. The Giants and Cincinnati Bengals are two possible destinations – with the Giants looking like the frontrunner. Arrington met with the Dolphins over the weekend, but the possible signing of Brees likely would eliminate Miami from the running. The Philadelphia Eagles are another possibility.

Okay they did mention us in lavar even tho we didnt sign brees we still have signed alot of players and now we r payin culpepper

Do u guys honestly believe one of them will sign w/ us?

They demand alot of money and Peterson has had bad injuries and Lavar is a team cancer.

They both r great players when playing but I think Saban rather sign a younger undeveloped cheaper player or draft a Chad Greenway or somebody liek that.

Yes i honeslty beleive one of them will, and i really dont care which, saban wants to replace seau, and so far hes making a big push to do that, so i saw one of them will be signed within the next 48 hours

Peterson most likely due to connection with Saban, so money may not be too much of a factor. Arrington is a whole another story.

I definatly feel we will sign one of the two, this is the next piece of the puzzle for Saban and he had Peterson visit today and Lavar already talked about a contract(but none offered). Saban will take his time to evaluate and if he believes they are a good fit then hell sign one soon money wont be the final issue really b/c if needed hey cvan restructure JT's contract!

I really think we do. We have the cap room to do it and if they seriously want to win, they'll come here because its easy to see that we are trying hard to build a winner and we will be champions within the next 3 years.

In Saban I Trust!!

We will land JP or LA!!!!!!!!

:rawk:

i know saban has been very mum lately on who he wants on this team, but did anybody hear about how the meeting went with jp or if there was a defenite meeting at all?

I think if we land one of these two it will be for a lower contract than what they would receive elsewhere. Miami is just not a team that overpays. So this means that Saban will have to give one hell of a sales pitch. And I think this is where the Peterson connection comes into play.

Your wasting your time geting info from Yahoo! sports, they are always behind. They will run the same stuff for a couple of days and sometimes weeks. if you want updated info, your best bet is local newpapers. Or here.

I didn't get that

Well, doesn't matter what "Yahoo" sports says about us and Peterson, I think the fact that he was actually in Davie today to meet with Saban and Mueller probably makes him a possible candidate to come here. I think Peterson will be cheaper, but I think we're ok $$ wise to sign either of them.

I want Peterson and I want him now! The addition of Peterson would allow us to focus on our secondary with our 1st round pick which would be huge. We could add a guy like Tye Hill, Bing, or Jason Allen...
