First off let me say this Ronnie is my favorite player that is playing right now. But the question I am asking is do we resign him before he becomes a free agent at the end of the year? In the last 3 seasons he has had 2 season ending injuries. But is by far our best player on offense. So if you were the GM would you resign him?

My answer is yes but to a short contract.

R u f###ing serious, f### yes you resigned him we might of been a 0-9 right now and last year def would of not made it to the playoffs. Biggest talent on our offense by far.. Ricky is good because he did not have the load of a starting RB with a far less talented person behind. Ronnie and Ricky together makes perfection in the RB position. Im sorry guys this day ****ing sucks.

The only thing I'll say is he's lost leverage and that should bring the price down some. He does have a unique skill set. The best thing is he doesn't fumble very often. If there is one problem I have with Ricky it is he does cough the ball up from time to time.

True.

The two mysteries at the moment are Ronnie's recovery potential and the CBA. Ronnie could think he's going to be a FA and hold out for a better deal, only to find out Miami holds his rights another year. The FO could think they've got him one more year and low-ball him, and on his way out the door with an expired contract Ronnie gets a golden medical evaluation.

It's a tough call for both sides.

We SHOULD.

The guy has been very successful for us, after being the #2 overall pick. He's arguably our franchise player, certainly our best offensive player, and as the heart of the Wildcat you can attribute much of the offensive success we've had with his play.

What we need to do is give him a short term low risk deal and let him prove that he can stay healthy. Then you think big money-long term if he proves it down the road. It would be dangerous to overpay for a guy who can't stay healthy, even if he is a quality player.

I love Ronnie as much as any Fin fan, but to re-sign a player who has consistently had problems with injuries is a risk and the FO will have to be certain that he will recover quick and comeback to 100%. He is an intricate part of this offense and a top tier RB, so you certainly dont want a player of that caliber to go, but it will all depend on his recover and most improtantly how much he is asking for.

If you don't, Ricky may retire. I wouldn't do it solely on that premise....but its gonna factor in. I love Ronnie and think he's absolutely our best offensive weapon.

He MUST be re-signed. Maybe the injuries take the dollar value down, which is good if we can still resign him.

Ronnie's going to be 28 next month. If you were him, would you want to take a chance on what a contract for a 31 year old back with an extensive injury history looks like? A three year contract isn't in his best interest.

But who's going to give him a long term deal now? He has not proven he can stay healthy, and because of this he has not become an elite back in the NFL.

And so it begins!!!

I knew it was coming. Like I titled my thread.....wait till Friday. Its going to get even more interesting after Ricky completely dominates like no RB has done in a phins uni since.......well...........RICKY!!!!!!!!!! :woot:

no way. you homers need to chill. ronnie is not a top 10 back hell he's not even the best back on our team. 2 season ending injuries in 3 years thanks for running hard ronnie wish you well with your new team.
