Let me first say this..I ABSOLUTELY HATE the Patriots. They get away with murder, the media's fairy tale bla bla bla BUT... Do we root for them to win today?

If they win and the Jets lose today, the Jets would not control their own destiny anymore..In fact, they would most likely miss the playoffs, despite all their offseason efforts to BUY a championship (haha losers). They would most likely lose the division to the Dolphins if/when we beat them next week OR if EVEN IF the Jets win next week, as long as the Patriots win next week @ garbage Buffalo, the Patriots would clinch the division.

PLUS theres a small chance if the Fins win the division, we could play the Patriots in the 1st round of the playoffs over the Ravens (they would need to lose to the Jags). If anyones seen the Dallas-Baltimore game last night, wow, definitely dont wana play the Ravens in the playoffs!

Nah if the Patriots lose, then we don't necessarily HAVE to win this game against the Chiefs.

God I hope we play the Patriots instead of the Ravens in that first round game (if we get there).

The Ravens look like a very good team right now, even with their rookie QB. Their running game and defense are both amazing, and that rookie QB does not make many mistakes.

Another thread about seeding when we have less than a 50/50 shot at the playoffs.

NO WE DO NOT ROOT FOR THE PATRIOTS!!!!!

WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO LOSE AND STILL HAVE A SHOT AT THE PLAYOFFS!!!

I would rather play the ravens then the pats... I believe the grind out running style of the ravens is better then the all pass style of the Pats... especially in the playoffs.

We definitely DO NOT root for the Pats today, if they lose today or next week, then they give us the room to lose today and still win the division by beating the Jets. Also if by chance the Phins and Jets win and NE loses they will seriously hurt their chance of making the wildcard spot. Bottom line, we NEED them to lose.

Ahh we will not win a track meet vs the Patriots.

You should NEVER root for the Patriots. You should only hope for the other team's failure and hand them the game, and maybe a couple injuries.

You don't NEED the patriots to lose. If they lose today, what it does is make today's game meaningless in terms of next week is "win and you're in, lose and you go home" for both the Jets and Dolphins.

But if both of our teams win today, the Patriots are left with only a Baltimore loss to the Jaguars next week as their only shot at a WC spot, even if they win. They are looking at a very good chance of going 11-5 and missing the playoffs.

While I have no great love for the Dolphins (understatement alert!), the irony of that situation warms me on a cold winter day.

BINGO! so many people are saying "who cares what anyone else does, as long as we win we're in" well thats easier said than done, it would be nice to have a little margin for error today, and a pats loss would give that to us. LETS GO CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Miami has to win both games to get in the playoffs, period. Miami controls their own destiny by winning both games. They win the division and get in the playoffs. Most likely the Colts and Ravens get in as wildcards.

If the Pats lose, they are out of the division race.
If Pats and Fins lose ==> We still can clinch.

Pats NEED to lose, 'nuff said.

We don't root for the Pats for the exact reason Jim C. from NJ mentioned.

We can only make the playoffs as divison winners. In order to do that we have to beat the Jets. Let's assume we will.

Now, if we lose today AND the Pats lose one of their two remaining games, we will still win the division with a victory over the Jets.

Besides, if we and the Jets win today AND the Pats lose, then the Pats are eliminated from playoff contention whatsoever unless we tie the Jets in our last game.

So: GO CARDINALS! :-)
