Is it realistic that we can get him and do we want him . I say yes

What is your reason for wanting Flynn. I'm asking for the sake of debate, not because I disagree.

When I think hot backups I think Schaub, Kolb, Cassell, Fitzgerald, Feeley... No better than Moore IMO.

Flynn is the next hot thing on the market after a small sample size of work.

I say keep Moore and draft a QB.

We better want him!!! He very well could be the next big thing. He looks like he's ready for a starting gig. 490 yards and 6 TDs is amazing at any level, especially in an NFL game. Way better option than drafting a rookie and looks light years ahead of any QB we've had over the last decade. Give him Kolb $$$ and draft some playmakers.

I wouldnt mind Flynn at all, its his cap hit I dont want...

No more than a 3rd. Nobody knows enough. Someone will likely pay a 1st or a 2nd for the guy, but it's a gamble.

He is an unrestricted free agent, so you wouldn't have to give up draft picks for the guy.

Schaub is WAY BETTER then Moore and he is the guy Flynn reminds me most of. Cassel and Moore are about the same now in my book but Cassel you had a pretty good 15 game NFL sample size to go off of, obviously the weapons he had around him in New England were part of it.

He's a FA so there is little risk. Sign him to a backloaded contract and let him battle Moore for the job. I seriously doubt Moore would win. We're not in position to draft a QB upgrade anyway. Use the pick on a playmaker or another Franchise Tackle.

If you can sign him for camp then why not. The draft class is uncertain in terms of what will be available at the Dolphins pick, so unless you plan to trade up to grab a QB Flynn offers you an option that has just as much potential to pan out.

You have to grab a QB this off-season so it might as well be the best possible choice give the circumstance, hell by signing Flynn you still have a realistic shot at Wedden in later in the draft if you deemed it necessary.

Flynn, Moore, Weeden - I like the odds of finding a solid starter in that bunch.

You mean stockpile talent at the most important position and one you are weak at and worse case one works out, best case they all look good and you have trade bait....NAH :chuckle: That would be a sure sign this organization has turned the corner in the right direction.

Enough with the Weeden talk, this guy was less than mediocre in his bowl game and he's already 28. If there's a QB to be had in the 2nd or 3rd rd we should be discussing Case Keenum!

I want Flynn. We're not likely to get a good QB in the draft, so I'd love to get Flynn, keep Moore as the backup, and draft a guy in rounds 4 to 7 to develop to be the backup once Moore leaves.

Wait!... WHAT!? You cant be serious...

Only if we hire Philbin and from his inside perspective he vouches for him. Otherwise, despite 2 great showings, he's a player drafted to be a backup like Feeley or Cassel, Scott Mitchell, etc. He was drafted closer to Mr Irrelevant than even the 4th round and if you watched LSU last night with one terrible QB who wasn't as bad as the other one, be mindful that Flynn comes from that specific program whose claims to fame are Rohan Davey (his understudying Brady vs Flynn Rodgers) and of course Jamarcus Russell. Not saying he'll be a flash in the pan, but unless Philbin is hired, we're risking momentum and being put back a year or two by buying a pig in a poke IMO.
