Well, there are definitely some interesting scenarios that could play out over the next 3 weeks. The Pats could play a big part in the Fins winning the division.

I hadn't thought too much about it, but would it be better if the Pats win out? Let's say the Pats, Fins, and Jets are all tied at 10-5 going into week 17. I believe the Pats win the tie-breaker over the Jets f they both win out.

If the NFL hasn't lost their minds, they'll flex NYJ-MIA to Sunday Night. The Pats play at 1:00 in week 17. If the Pats win that game, they will be 11-5 and the Jets will find out that their game on Sunday night no longer matters.

How big of a heart-breaker would it be to find out 4 hours ebfore game time that you're going to missthe playoffs even if you win your game? If the Pats win out ad we play on Sunday night, we could be playing a Jets team that has a lot less heart when they realize their season is over.

That would be sweet id rather deal with a Brady Less Pats team in the playoffs than a Brett Farve team in the playoffs anyday!

Plus the Pats D is falling apart.. but then again same could be said for the Jets D

I'd say yes, but then admit to lying. No is my final answer.

As much as it would pain me to do it, it might be the best situation.

Of course, Brett Favre will still play hard to make his final game a memorable one. And some peple in the Jets organization would want to beat Pennington. Maybe Pennington's buddy Coles will want to help a friend out and 'accidentally' fumble the ball to us. Kinda like Favre helping out Strahan.

I'd like to see them lose out. Being in the playoffs is more important than who we are playing.

Who we would play in the playoffs isn't the point here. The point is, if the Pats win out, the Jets CANNOT win the division. no matter what. So if the Pats win out, the Jets game against us will mean nothing to them. Even if they win, the lose the division to the Pats.

It could be a huge blow to them, learning that their season is over even if they win that game.

Jets win the division if they win out. Fins with the division if they win out.

Pats don't, unless they get help.

The Jets only have one division loss. The Pats have two. They split their two games against each other. The Jets win that tiebreak.

In fact, if all three teams reach 10-5, the Pats are already eliminated from the division race unless the Fins-Jets game ends tied.

Dont the patriots still play the bills?
We want the bills to win so the patriots stay further away from us...
Cuz if the bills beat the patriots we can lose to SF and win KC and NYJ and still win division..
The Bills are mathematically already eliminated I beleive...

The Bills play the Jets too, I'm a Bills fan all the WAY right now, we own that tiebreaker. I hope the Bills win out.

if the pats could play tomorrow and lose by 50 i would vote for that.. no is my answer

I'm not sure. In that situation I bet the Jets would be really really pissed off. They would definitely still try.

No, the Patriots do not win the tiebreak.

Currently the Dolphins and the Jets hold their fate in their hands. If both teams with their next two, the winner of the week 17 Dolphins vs. Jets game will win the division.

The only way for the Patriots to win the division is to win out, then have whomever wins the week 17 match up to have lost at least one other.

No. Favre played terrible in the playoffs last year, that game mattered. The past 2 games he's lost have mattered. If he goes out to just have fun for possibly the last game of his career, he's gonna light us up big.
