Chris Chambers a tradable commodity on draft day?

He's from Cleveland..........send Chambers, #9, and a late day two to Browns for #3?

Anyone believe that it's possible

It's possible, but I would hate the move. We're light on play making receivers as it is, and Chambers is still without a doubt our best wide-out (unfortunately). I think we could stay at #9 and still pick up a great player... hopefully Quinn.

As for the trade though, I think it'd work. I believe in 2006 the Broncos traded up 4 spots to #11 just by swapping 1st's and throwing in a 3rd. I think Chambers and another pick would be enough to move up.

The only reason I mention it is the recent "demotion" so to speak highlighted in another thread. New coaching staff could conceivably decide to go in a new direction just like the release of Randy McMichael

Hey Clumpy, since you are the salary cap expert: what would be the impact of trading chambers salary cap wise? i thought he was untradable this season due to his big signing bonus and the lenght of the remaining contract!

I thought it would be more likely that booker would be dealt on draft day, especially if the fins go wr in the first 3 rounds. Opinions?

Even though I'm not the biggest Chambers supporter....I'd first rather get rid of Booker. He's made some good plays, but too injury prone. I'd like to see what Chambers can do with a stud QB and a involvement in the offense.

Too injury prone? When has he been injured while he's been with the dolphins?

I think Booker is much more moveable. His contract is smaller and he has less ability than Chambers. Cameron likes the idea of a guy with Chris' capabilities and will utilize him as the versatile guy Chambers is. It's a decent thought Clumpy, but I just don't see it happening. If he wanted to move him, why would he make that news public? You'd think he'd mention how good Chambers looked.

I believe if we did that, it would be for CJ and only him. We wouldnt do that just for Quinn.

Who are you implying that we trade up with CLE for?

Too injury prone? When has he been injured while he's been with the dolphins?

Well he seems to get hurt every year, but not for a significant amount of time.

Year/games missed

2006- 2
2005- 1 (missed much of 2 others where he had 0 catches)
2004- 1

Not seriously injured, I ment that fact that last year I was annoyed when he would come out of the game just cause he got a little bruised up. And if I'm not mistaken, didn't Derek Hagan start a game last year when Booker was out a game? Yes he did.

Yah thats why it must have escaped my memory. Its nothing significant though. Nothing worth saying trade him over. Even if we draft a reciever at number 9, I still believe we keep all our recievers on the roster until next year, where I then see Booker getting the boot, with Hagan in the wings to take over.

By the way, who was Clumpy implying that we trade up with them for? It depends on who it is for as to the reaction it gets.

Thats not a good reason to get rid of someone. One game where Hagan came in? And dont get me wrong, Hagan and I are actually friends from when he was here at ASU as well.

And as for coming out of the game because he was a little bruised up? Thats going to be hard to prove. Booker performed great for us last year.

Yeah exactly. I don't want to trade any of our WRs at this point. I too think Booker is almost done as a Fin though especially if we draft one this year. Hagan is going to be a starter along side Chambers eventually, the guy is a stud in my eyes and will be a good player for us. (I'm sure you agree being at ASU and all. )

He was saying we trade Chambers to Cleveland and move to #3.

Yah but do we do that in essense to grab Quinn, or do we do that to move up for CJ? If we give up Chambers then in my opinion its to move up for CJ. If we give up Chambers, then we are really going to lack in the Wr department. If we do clumpys trade, it has to be for CJ. CJ would then replace Chambers.

More like Booker gets hurt every game  But, he gets back in there.
