Not that he would even want this, but do you think there is a chance Ricky gets put up on the ring of honor? Hasn't he surpassed most of Csonka's records by now? Statistically, I think he is deserving. But considering the shaky history with the club, I don't think it will happen.

As of right now I would say no. If he plays hard the rest of this year and we make the playoffs then comes back next year and continues to play the #2 as well as he did before Ronnie went down he's got a shot.

If anyone brings up his drug history as a reason not to put him up there then you should write the Dolphins and tell them to pull Duper's name down. He was suspended for coke and also locked up after his career ended for sales charges.

A guy that quit on the team, and, twice has shown he values substances over the franchise and his teammates?

Color me surprised if he is.

He couldn't give a **** less about being a Dolphin, and, he's proven it multiple times. There's more to being a great Dolphin than putting up stats.

He might have thought that way before. He doesn't now. And that's all that matters.

I think he would of made it, just on his 1st year alone here.

So YES! He makes it.

He'll make it if we win a Superbowl with him playing a significant role in achieving it.

Absolutely NO CHANCE otherwise.

And you know this....How?

Now he's back in that oh so dreaded spotlight.....He's got the weight of the team on his shoulders....Again. Forgive me if I think he's making a stop at the smoke shop.

The only real motivation I see for him playing football is the child support orders. Make no mistake, that's good motivation. Certainly can't walk off with Lenny Kravitz again.

:chuckle:

Hey, you guys like who you like. I accept that. I turned my back on him when he turned his back on us.

But ring of honor? That guy wouldn't know the meaning of the word if it bit him on the ***.

He wont get into the ring of Honor. His name does not look right next to the others.. However I think most fans will look back on him with as good of a light.
Especially with how rocky his time here has been.

I hear what your saying and if you don't think he is worthy of the ring fair enough hard to argue. I will come to his defense just on some of the things you brought up. I was like you when he retired on us and sent our team into a tailspin. I honestly didn't want him back on the team. I shrugged my shoulders when Zach and JT came to his defense and figured if they wanted him back what the hell.

As time has passed and we have learned more about what was going on when he left and whats happened with Ricky in the years between I have forgiven him. The guy was diagnosed with a crippling social disorder and unless you've walked in his shoes you can't know what that was like. It's bad enough to have something like that but to also be in the position he was in as a celebrity had to be pretty rough with cameras in his face all the time and people always approaching him.

Parcells, Sparano and his teammates all say the guy is the hardest working player on the team. This is not just in games but in practice and offseason. He definitely made his fair share of mistakes when he was younger but I think the true test of a man is how he responds and I think Ricky is truly a changed man and should be applauded for turning his life around.

One side note if you don't think he cares about and is very loyal to the Dolphin franchise. He could have not resigned with us this year and made more with another team, not that he isn't still making good money but he could have got a little more with another team. I think he appreciates that this team has stuck by him and he has said he will never leave south Florida and considers it home now.

I don't think you can put a quitter in the ring. I mean, if you want to look back on him fondly? I'm ok with that. I did too...Until he quit. Now, I'm happy when he does well because it helps the team. I care the same ammount for him as he showed her cared for my team.

can he live on in the hearts of fans? Sure. the Ring? Not so sure on that.

Ricky quit on Wannstache just like everyone in Florida did. I woulda packed up too.

I respect that you like who you like. I cannot ever abide quitters. It absolutely enrages me. I think they are a virus. What they say means nothing to me. Thier actions speak for them.

I'm still "Arms crossed" on Ricky. I can't bring myself to have faith in him again. Once I'm punched in the face X times, I have to defend agaisnt being punched in the face again.

I appreciate RW and his contributions.........I'll never consider him a great Dolphin, and, it disturbs me that people want a guy like him in the ring.

I agree I don't like quitters but in the case of someone that had a severe mental disorder I can find it in my heart to forgive. The other point I made about Zach and JT was to express the fact that he quit on them as well and they had every right to then turn their backs on him but didn't. That tells me a lot about who Ricky is behind closed doors that the guys in the looker room welcomed him back with open arms. I'm not saying he should be in the ring I'm just defending him as a man. I also don't understand why people don't have a problem with Duper being up there.
