have a win at all cost mentallity starting Sunday vs. the Bills. Do you think they go into this game with the mentality that to make the playoffs we must win out? THOUGHTS?

It would be interesting to see what type of move they would make if a scenario were to arise in Sundays game (YOU MAKE THE CALL)...4th qtr, 4th and 3 on the Dolphins 38, Bills 27 dolphins 17, 7:00 minutes on the clock, Miami has 3 timeouts. What does Sparano do? Punt or Go?

Thanks,
GO DOLPHINS!!!

he goes for it..
he's not trying to lose any games...

what were you thinking when you made this thread?
you win one week at a time....

He's already made it clear that he intends to get the team into the playoffs. He knows they have to win out. They are going to pull out all the stops.

I am wondering what people think Sparanos mentallity is going into this game. Is he thinking we MUST win out to make the playoffs. My thought process for this thread is stated on the second line of the original post.

You mean......Does he want to win the game? Yes...I'd say so. I think every NFL HC wants to win every game. Matter of fact, come to think of it when I was coaching the 1st Brigade, 4th ID Recon Troop flag football team, I wanted to win every game.

So..Yes. I'd say they want to win.

LOL its funny you have to actually type out what you mean on a thread as obvious as this.

Oh, ok, thanks! I wasnt sure if he wanted to win this week or lose and take his chances. Maybe he likes backing in to the playoffs. I didnt think of it that way, thanks for clearing that up for me.

No sweat dude. You seemed unclear. If you need help with the scenerio presented, I'll be happy to. Punt......Unless the coach is a complete idiot.

BTW....There is NO backing into the playoffs for us. We've got to win out and hope. That whole "descideing your own fate" nonsense went away when New England bent us over and did bad things to our poopers.

I think a better angle would be; does he play conservatively like they did in St. Louis last week as opposed to earlier in the season, going for it on fourth down in the fourth quarter? What plays get called in key situations. Is there really a different set of plays or just specific conservative alternatives.

Sparano and Henning will call the plays for a must win mentality not a not to lose mentality. The latter is a sure way to a defeat. Both teams view this as must win territory. And it is the Bills for goodness sakes. I expect some new wrinkle in the WILDFIN on Sunday.

I hope he thinks that every game is a must win lol

Actually, there really is no hoping involved, we win out, we are in the playoffs, unless you are saying they need to hope that the Steelers fall on their face, and we take over #2 in the playoffs. :D I would love that

I think if we keep playing not a conservative type of football but being able to just do things right will get us further than we would ever dream. That is the type of football that Miami has played this season.
