The HOF after they retire?(5 years) Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor. This will be Miamis 9th and 10th HOF if they do.

I say Jason taylor and Zach Thomas will. They can turn around games in a few plays, and win games. Can you think of any other worthy canadates?

Postseason appearances would certainly help. It's almost impossible to get in if you have never been in the spotlight at some point.

From a fan point of view I think they both deserve to be in the HOF. If Jason can continue to play at the high level he has the past few years, he has a great chance of making it. Zach is much like Harry Carson, respected by his peers but not so much by the media. Unfortunately it's the writers who determine who is inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

I am convinced that Jason Taylor will make it in.. I dont think Zach will though.. He will be in the Dolphins Ring of Honor for sure though.

jt has the best shot if he can put up 2 more solid years. zach will be a longshot.

How in the HELL can you say ZT is a long shot? The guys has been to 6 pro-bowls in 10 years! If he is not leading the league in tackles, he is in the top 5 every year! And just for an extra bit of reasoning... He is by far the smallest MLB that has played the game in recent years! He has out performed Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher year in, year out... His only downfall is being a part of a team that hasn't won the big game!!!

I don't see how you can keep Zach out. Any writer who has covered the NFL over the past ten years has got to clearly see that he is one of the few game changing defensive players in his era.

Taylor is a given imo.

if zach is a long shot then ray lewis is a huge NO!

r u nuts ? ray lewis a huge no ? ur crazy cuz ray lewis was the mvp of the superbowl when they had their run in 2000-2001 and he impacts the game in so many ways......also i believe he was a two time defense player of the year ...

as someome once said
its the hall of fame, not the hall of really good

jason taylor and zach thomas are really good

Zach Thomas should definitely be there. Jake Scott and Kooch should also be in the Hall of Fame....Jake went to more pro-bowls than many Phin's Hall of Famers, but awards never meant anything to Jake. Jake also told the college hall of fame not to bother inducting him even though he was deserving. Jake should be in Canton. I think Jason Taylor is a first ballot Hall of Famer.

No. They've both come up short in the biggest games.

As of now, I would say neither would be there. Both are great Dolphins, but in the whole scheme of things, there will be plenty of reasons to keep them both out. I think JT has a legitimate shot, I don't think ZT does. You don't get Hall of Fame votes based off of how many tackles you can pile up. ZT is not a game changer. He is a very good player, and is perfect for the types of defenses we've run over the years. Pro bowls and tackles don't mean a lot to all those writers. We love the guy, but unbiasedly, I say he's a probably a bit further out than a longshot. I think JT may go, maybe not first ballot, but if he puts another 3-5 solid years, his numbers will speak a bit louder.

Both of these guys could go in on the first ballad. You have to look at it the same way college players look at the draft. If you retire and you are the only upper echelon player retiring that year, then you have a shot in five years. You know that in five years it will be you and a bunch of guys that have been waiting around that are on the list. If you are looking at a list full of guys that were great players and a guy that was recently a great player, then the recently great is going to stand out because of your more recent memory. Jake Scott should be in as well, no questions asked. They should retire a jersey 13 with an asterisk in his honor.
