I dont think Buckner is big enough to play nose tackle. Manny is much bigger. Manny is 6-6, 330 - Buckner is 6-2 310

i think our d-line is pretty solid but if theres a problem with keith traylor i think we should get him

Actually, I dont think his stats are all that attractive after I just looked. In 13 years only 6 forced fumbles, only averaged 23 tackles a year, only once did he reach 7 sacks, averages only 2.3 sacks per year...After seeing all these whoever signs him can keep him. I thought he was a better player than that until now

Keith Traylor got arrested remember

Getting arrested and convicted are two different things... Plus, you have to look at the level of charges...

He's a starting DT for the Carolina Panthers. Getting pretty up there in age and just got kicked to the curb in Carolina. He's a pretty good DT and he can also play nose tackle for us. He played the position when he was in Pittsburgh and was a pretty good NT for them. I would be all for signing him if God forbid he were to get hurt. He would definately be a vocal leader and give us some more fire on the defense.

I am all for adding a veteran guy that understands the fundamentals of nose. The way it stands, if Traylor(well when) gets hurt because of age and health/depression, our only option is a second year guy with weight issues. Not too happy about that since we are moving toward having more of our defense slide toward the 3-4. I think mixing it up so you have half and half 3-4/4-3 is brilliant. It is the making of an unpredictable and versatile defense. It gives you so many more options and I would hate to see that jepardized by Traylor going out in like week 9 and not having a capable backup.

stats dont tell the story when juding an interior defensive linemen, especially a nose. which i know he wasnt in carolina but i believe he played there in pitts
