I think that the only way we would trade him is gonna be based off his performance monday night. Honestly Porter hasn't done anything this year, the only thing hes done is gotten two sacks. I love porter but he is getting up there in age. What would you guys do if we traded him for a 2nd or 1st rounder or a young developing LB

You won't get that for Porter and no I wouldn't trade him.

It depends if JT returns next year. Roth's continued development could impact this situation as well. Wake is for real and probably starts next year. Porter could become expendable in the off season.

Porter frees up other blitzers, he provides more than just sacks. Often when our corners blitz JP is right there occupying the Oline or RB. He is very valuable to this team but I IF we could get a high pick and a developing LB I would be open to the possibility of making a trade. It would depend if we win or not cuz if we win JP is going to be a HUGE part of our success.

I don't think we could get that for Joey Porter. Not knocking him, I want him to stay, just think that he'll likely finish here if he gets healthy this year. If healthy he's more valuable to us than anything we'll be able to for get for him. If not healthy at the end of the year he'll probably get cut next year. I think he still draws a crowd and has to be accounted for which will help our other guys. And his enthusiasm has been good for the whole team.

With the money he is getting I would be content with a 3rd.
I wouldnt really care either way.
He has a C on his chest this year I doubt we trade a Captain
We already lost one due to injury.

He wont get traded, he is getting up in age but i feel he will still be here, his performance this year is not much but he has been hurt. But no one can feel his shoes on this team so it wont happen. He was great last year and i still feel he will come up again as the year goes. Sad thing is it might not mean much if we dont make it to the playoffs. It was great last year watching him, he was our pass rush lol.

I agree that a 3rd rounder is all we get, unless we trade to Al Davis and the Raiders, then me just may get a 1st.....lol

I say we keep him, his presence is felt!!

Porter started seeing double teams in Atlanta. And that opened things up for Merling. If you remember, Merling had an outstanding game.

Porter has also looked better against the run this year. being around running plays close to and behind the line of scrimmage.

We know he wasn't good against the run last year.. And in pre season he made those two awful plays letting Cadillac of the Bucs run right by him for long gains.. But Porter has stepped it up a bit in that department.

If Porter is still drawing so much attention from offensive lines, then that will open things up for Wake and Taylor more.. I love that we will have all 3 on the field for long passing situations. They can create good mismatches there with those 3.. And it will open things up for Merling , Starks , LAngford and our DE's more too.

They will drive offensive lines crazy.

Next year I would not be surprised if Porter is not a Dolphins. It is all in his hands really.

Actually, its in Bills hands. I'd rather spend the 5 mil as part of a contract offer for Vincent Jackson or Dallas Clark. Bring back JT; he is a lot cheaper.
