During the game today, the commentators were talking about how Atlanta's Defense and Offense was being tipped off on what we were doing. Goose was talking defense and how our blitzers were running up to the line too soon tipping Vick off as to where the open area was going to be. Then when we were on offense, the Moose talked a lot about how Ricky moved up when Frerotte changed the play at the line and other things as well. I thought it was good insight. What are your thoughts?

Best example was the 3rd and 2 play at the end, if you're right. Gus clearly was locked into Chambers and they read it perfectly. He had McMike open in the end zone, too.

everytime ricky was in the game it was a rollout the falcons knew it all along...but seriously 3rd and 2 and we dont run it come on...but our offense is too predictable

No doubt we were. If Morris was in at fullback all plays were passes but 1 in the entire game. If Barnes was in all plays were runs but 2. When R & R were in all plays were runs. When Welker was in all plays were passes. When Diamond was in all plays were runs.

How is that from a team fan who didn't even take notes and noticed it by watching one game. Pretty bad I'd say LOL

I don't knwo that our offense is too predictable. I think it's just inefficient. The play calling is confused - no rhyme or reason. Another problem is that our defense can't get off the field and our offense can't get into any sort of rythm.

It seems they figured out that typically when the Dolphins have Brown and Williams in the game at the same time, they actually pass a majority of the time.

''We had a little tip,'' Carpenter said. ``With their two running backs in there, we knew they were going to pass. Who was going to block and who was going to run?''

nice pick up on the type of plays with the different FB's in there. The R&R thing also seems to be a dead giveaway.

But you can't read too much into some of that without considering the situation of each play. Was it 2nd and 2 or 3rd and 15? You're always going to get more passes than runs on 3rd and 15.

Welker is the #3 WR. When you have 3 WR's on the field, you're likely to pass. Not just Miami, but every team.

i have been saying this for a couple weeks now.

moose johnson even said the defense looks predictable.

I agree there. Tony Siragusa kept commenting on how the LB's were giving away their blitzes by being too anxious. Part of the effectiveness of a blitz is the element of surprise.

I don't think that the offense was overly predictable against the Falcons. They just do not have a rhythm at all. The play-calling is weak. Just when you think they are creating a drive, it stalls because of an odd play. For example, all those stupid trick plays. It is cool to break out a trick play every now and then, but Jesus! The Falcons were not biting on them and Miami kept runing them for losses.

I really believe that the play-calling has been questionable at some point in every game this year. Gus throws the ball way too much, and it kills drives.

The Falcons are saying all kinds of crap after the fact. They weren't tipped off alot. If they were, they would have created more turnovers.

Yea thats truwe as well when you are gonna run a reverse or an end around. Now every team expcests those playsbecause we run them too much. The reason they are called ''trick plays'' is because they are supposed to confuse the opposing defenses. Now if you run the same ''trick play'' one or twice every game you lose the element of suprise now dont you.

Yeah we were. I called quite a few plays before it happened. Then Siragusa started calling plays. That's pretty pathetic when fans and announcers can figure out the plays. So you know the opposing defense is able to.

Although I like what you say overrall about the trick plays, The tip was that once Ricky and ronnie were in at the same time, we would pass almost every time. They also said that we pass when in certain set ups. The reason Atlanta didnt intercept the ball at all is cus we didnt go downfield hardly at all and when we did, it didnt work. We passed at the line of scrimmage and ran end arounds/double reverse. We ran two play actions I believe.

So let me just add. Why not run the ball 40 times a game and be predictable that way cus it uses clock, it pounds the Dline, it works, and we have two studs who can kill a team in the fourth quarter. We were doing it. Why did we not continue to do it? We had to waste 2 minutes, go three yards in two plays, and we were going to pass when we had absolutely no success all game doing it but all the success in the world jamming Ronnie down their throats? They were tired. We had them on the ropes! We passed. Stupid call, any way anyone slices it or dices it!
