Branch is an interesting question mark.

He had a decent season but I think he is actually quite a limited de who more often than not gets sacks through high effort rather than skill.

If he is cheap I would happily bring him back, but if he wants a big payday? I think he is very replaceable.

Finding our future at DE after Wake needs to be a high priority this offseason regardless of what happens with Branch.

This is a very very tough call

One dimensional rusher with average rush tools helped by the wide 9

worth noting that Jim Washburn has quietly retired

The only thing im hearing with all these scheme changes and auto cuts of existing players is adding more and more needs to the list and possibly bad contracts

This team can contend with a few pieces and some guys returning to health...dont chop it up

His agents will be looking to get him a big-pay day (saw he signed new agents a few weeks back but forget name). There may be a team who really overpays for him based on position so might not be possible. There are stills teams sitting there with a bunch of money that has to be spent so expect more eye popping numbers.

Thank you Branch but it's time to switch schemes. Best of luck in the future.

As a situational pass rusher. Do not overpay for him. Use him like David Bowens back in the 90s.

Depends on price, obviously...but I think you try to retain him. Granted he is an average player, but you always need a slew of lineman and we saw how much injuries can have an impact on the team. I resign him and still look for another DE in the first 2 rounds.

Who said anything about a scheme change and to what?

I don't think I'd pay him over $6 million/year. I'd much rather re-sign Stills and he may end up costing us more since I'm hearing the Eagles are going to make a play for him.

If were promoting the LB coach to DC dont think we get a scheme change :ponder:

We haven't been able to stop the run even when healhty which could be part scheme and part players especially the LB play.

I think you have to keep Branch. You can only fix so many things in the off-season and letting Mario go is one of them. I guess it is far too early yet to figure out a viable replacement if you do let Branch go as well. I have zero hope in Jordan at this point and making it to practice would be the biggest win of his career to date.

So that leaves Wake and Fede and I am not comfortable with that.

I keep hearing 34 and we dont have the personnel for it

And our existing personnel fit this scheme...i would piece it look for cheap one year deals at de add a top 3 rotational dt add a lb or two tender kiko bank on safety health with jones and quddus but upgrade the 2 deep over rambo especially

You go away from wide 9 pass rush polish hand use and rush arsenal as in moves becomes more of a premium

we can always shift to more true press at times with the corners provided we upgrade the lb level
