Dodge Celebrity Invitational: Marino waiting to see what Dolphins do with first pick

Dan Marino's just a fan, he swears.

"I'm like anybody else," the Dolphins legend said, some nine days before his old team picks first in the NFL Draft for just the second time in franchise history. "I'm just standing here, waiting to see what they're gonna do. It's going to be interesting."
......

Despite the fawning -- and Marino's successful career analyzing his former team and the rest of the league for CBS and HBO -- the 46-year-old insisted he's got no clue as to new Miami boss Bill Parcells' intentions with that top pick.

"I think he's looking at all his options, considering what he thinks is the best opportunity for the team to get better," Marino said. "Any time they have the No. 1 pick, they're going to look at all those options and start negotiating with guys to see what's out there. That's just the normal stream of business."
.....

"To me, it's all about who they think the best player is, who they think is going to help the team," Marino said. "You look at the left tackle, there's a guy that could be there for 10, 12 years and it's a premier position. Then you always need pass-rushers."
.........

"It's hard for me," Marino said of the revolving door under center, "but it's always about who's going to move the team. I think John Beck was in a tough situation last year and did a pretty good job, but how do you know? He played against (some) really good defenses, so it's hard to tell if he's ready."

Agreed.

You cant develop a QB for the future with no offensive line.
