I was just watching Sportscenter and they were doing their little powwow about what the Jags need and who they will draft. The biggest need was a rush end because their new D coordinator Greg Williams likes to bring the heat. Now i know that JT will fetch us the best value but i was wondering if any of our other defensive ends could get us anything in return.

So using these players as a stepping stone

Jason Taylor
Matt Roth
Quentin Moses

what do you think they will get us player/draft pick wise and what YOU would like to pick up with that draft pick is we received it.

U want to trade 2 of our young DE's . . . both with plenty of potential still . . . for wha? 2 picks who we know nothing about? I don't understand that . . . no offense, but why do u want to trade them, it doesn't make any sense.

JT for a 2nd all day . . . simply because it gives him the opportunity to go to a contender . . . and we HOPEFULLY get a player that in a few years can help us get to a high level.

I hope Roth has tons!! left to show us and i think Moses is gonna be a very very solid player. Obviously you dont think they should be gone and i agree with you i dont want them gone and disguarded just because either but i want to know if they have value and if they might be moved if the Jags come a callin and if the FO says it was best for the team then i will go with them.

i have been calling for this from day one.the jags 2nd round pick might not even make the team.they play the colts twice, and the pats in the playoffs.he will take a pay cut,and he gets to go to a playoff team.its the perfect fit

Taylor is the only one of the three any other teams would trade for. Moses was cut by the Raiders despite being a third round pick...which has more to do with the incompetence of Oaklands front office than anything else, but I don't think anybody would be willing to trade for him. Roth has done absolutely nothing worthy of his second round draft status and was a disappointment in his first season as starter, so I doubt anyone is lining up to acquire him.

That is correct ! Taylor is the only one who has some value. Forget about Roth and Moses.. Roth has been a let down but Moses i think will turn out to be good. I would say we try to get a BIG WR with the PICK or a QB.. James Hardy or Flacco would be nice ;)

I think any trade makes sense for us, I've thought this is a good match. They have a solid chance to push the top teams and JT would really help. Moses and Roth don't have much for trade value so I generally would rule them out. Minnie makes sense aswell they could upgrade their pass rush as does Wash and St.Lou ( I doubt that would happen but SL loves ex-Dolphins).

Roth would be a terrific DE in a 4-3.... But he's undersize for a 3-4 DE.... I would take a 2 for him... Since we're not going to be a 4-3 anymore for awhile...

What makes you think he could be gone?
dont get me wrong.i'm a big fan of roth.but dam, whats he done.he plays hard, but i think wright the kid from texas will out play him . i dont see a trade for mat.he has no real value.i hope he prove's me wrong, but there is a good chance in the next two years we draft or get a bad as* defensive end.this is a make or break year for him.he must make it happen now. i hope he does, but i woudnt put my money on it.

I think we trade JT for 2 and a 4 like everyone prev stated a week or so ago. Draft Long and then get an OT with the 2nd round they give us. Maybe even Kentwan Balmer with the 2nd we get. I also think Calias Campbell will fall to us late in the draft poss at the 96 spot in the 4th I seen alot of mocks that have him falling past 110. I just think we need to let Taylor go and with the draft being deep this year do it now before he gets hurt or decides he wants to retire after this season and then we kept him for nothing when we could have had some good prospects.

Their are too many teams looking for DE's for Cambell to slide to us. Jets, NE, Panthers, Jags, and TB are just a few. Just look at how many went to Derrik Harvey's pro-day at Florida. Kentwan Balmer is in the top 5 DL in the draft and that includes ends. I would be overwhelmed to get any of them in the 2nd though.

That's silly to suggest he has no value. He's young and still has upside and he plays hard.
As some have stated earlier, he's probably better suited for a 4-3 defense and as such, he may be a better fit on another team. I think he could command a 3rd or 4th rd pick.
I think it's funny how some are so eager to cut ties with even the young players on this team.
