i wonder if david martin is still out there

haynos is good but i would rather have a 3rd te on the roster that could catch, since the wr's have hands of stone

Henne should miss him the most. Martin would make a huge difference in this offense. I like what I have seen from Haynos so far, but the vetern TE would made Henne's life a lot easier.

Haynos was a find, not ever day you find someone so tall and can catch. If would could put some weapons on the outside, Haynos can be a big weapon for us in the middle. ANd of course Red Zone.
Chubbs

LOL...I was thinking the same thing after Haynos dropped that pass last week. We lost our only real receiving TE. Martin played well for us last year. I thought he wouldn't be missed, but so far Haynos and Fasano have not lived up to expectations.

Honestly, I never thought much of him until this year. I can't believe how much we miss that guy. I think I must have been basing my opinion of him on the year before under Camoron and not on what he did on the field for us last year.

Wow was I wrong.

not at all. full supporter of Joey Haynos. He's 6'8"! Martin never showed anything special to make me miss him. Joey is cheap, works hard, and is a big guy great for run blocking. Ball security after the catch could use some work, as could route running, but he is a 2nd year UDFA. much better long term potential than Martin.

no.

because he would be doing EXACTLY what our TE'S have to do now. stay back
and help our kuzillion a year tackles pass block.

cant catch passes when you are helping the o-line block all the time.

Martin's getting up there in the years, but he had a hell of a season in '08. He made some acrobatic catches and could create mismatches when split wide. I think he's 30; I wouldn't mind resigning him.

I have to say yes to this also! This offense is not the same with him out of the lineup.

Ask Matt Ryan how valuable a good handed TE will help develop a young QB's confidence.

This problem will be addressed in the draft next year, mark my words Bill will take a TE at some point later in the draft.

Yes, we've lost two of our best weapons on offense in cobbs and martin...those are 2 guys you would have to prepare for...martin had a way of getting speration and getting open and then getting huge chunk yards on catches..we lost that...we lost cobbs..and everyone is saying haynos is the savior..so its haynos and who else now? Man Haynos is no where near martin's talent. hes jus tall..
