Does anybody else remember 1991?

I was at the game. I believe that was the game where Ken OBrien threw the flea flicker to Al Toon late in the game. This was one of my first crushing defeats as a Dolfan.

One of the first Dolphins games I remember. Didn't Mark Clayton guarantee a win? I remember my dad being pissed about it.

I remember the 82 playoff game were AJ Duhe had 3 INT's returning the last one for a TD and sending us to the superbowl.

Ozzy rules!!

Oh I remember. But the difference back then was that the Jets also played for the playoffs and made it and had a better team and QB (O'Brian ) than they have today.

:)

They were also on a 3 or 4 game losing streak back then. It was their playoff spot to lose.

Yup. I'm 35 now and I didn't become a die hard fan until I was about 13...which was 1991. That game was pretty much my first of many heart breakers.

Horrible, heart breaking game. But that team was flawed. The defense really regressed from the previous season, and if you are old enough to remember, that is the season during which Sammy Smith had goal line carries in back to back weeks and fumbled. I believe the first one cost the game vs the Oilers, it was a last second play, then the following week doomed us vs the Chiefs.
Argh. The memories.
Almost as bad as losing out to the Patriots in New England Week 17 of 2002. The sickest I've ever been after a football game, blowing a 24-13 lead with 4:59 to go.

That one the refs stole on a complete bs pass interference call on fletcher.

in 1991 i was playing bass guitar in a heavy metal band, so i don't remember much of that year...lol

I'm gonna remember Sunday December 29, 2013 for the whooping we're gonna give the Jets. :D

Season finale. Against the Jets, At home. For the playoffs.

It was a well-fought battle that went to OT where we had the ball first, Marino missed a streadown the sideline and eventually lost on a fg. I think Bruce Coslet was the Jets coach that year. As it typically happened during this era, Marino led us to a lead in the 4th quarter but watched helplessly as our run D was gashed for over 200 yards by perennial all-pro running-backs by the names of Johnny Hector and Freeman McNeil.

Anyways, that game has angered me for 20+years and I think it's time for some payback and exercise the demons of the past. Also, If you should happen to come across Tom Olividatti today, please do me a favor and kick him in the nuts.

. Chris Burkett and Rob Moore made some big time catches in the 4th qtr in that game too. I remember it well.

Didn't Stoyanovich miss a FG to win the game in OT as well? I remember Pete Carroll (then the Jets DC) making the 'choke' sign from the sidelines. Brutal.

Different game. We won the game where Carroll made the choke sign.

What year was the Carroll choke game? '92? Could've sworn we lost that one too. I was only 11 at the time though, so my memory of that period in Fins history is a little hazy.
