Does anybody else remember 1991?

What year was the Carroll choke game? '92? Could've sworn we lost that one too. I was only 11 at the time though, so my memory of that period in Fins history is a little hazy.

Yeah, I think it was 92. Trying to remember the particulars of the game but I think stoyo missed a field goal to take the lead and Carroll did the choke sign. It actually helped us out cause if he made it than the jets would try to drive down the field and win it on a fg and knowing our defense they probably would of. Instead they tried to run out the clock, we got the ball back, danny drove us down and stoyo hit the game winner.

I think that's what happened. It was a Sunday night game too I think.

I think you're right, although I definitely remember that being an afternoon game on NBC. I think Marv and Joe Namath might've even been on the call. Feel free anyone who clearly remembers to fill in the blanks on this one lol.

:puke:Tom Olividatti

If I was Marino, I would have a dart board of him, and many many dart marks from all the thrown darts at his face.....that guy destroyed Marino's chance at being considered the best QB to play the game. Marino should have at the very least gotten 2 SB wins, and it wasn't the lack of a running game, but the lack of the defense to at least be somewhat stingy. You suck Olividatti :nutkick:

It was in 1994

No, it definitely wasn't '94. We beat the Jets in the Fake Spike game the last time we played them that year. The game against the Jets at home was early in the season. I remember that season very well. We might've gone to the Super Bowl that year if Stoyo makes that kick against San Diego. Brutal.

Yeah you're right, I thought he made the choke sign when he was the HC, he made it when he was the DC.

Season finale. Against the Jets, At home. For the playoffs.

It was a well-fought battle that went to OT where we had the ball first, Marino missed a streaking Duper down the sideline and eventually lost on a fg. I think Bruce Coslet was the Jets coach that year. As it typically happened during this era, Marino led us to a lead in the 4th quarter but watched helplessly as our run D was gashed for over 200 yards by perennial all-pro running-backs by the names of Johnny Hector and Freeman McNeil.

Anyways, that game has angered me for 20+years and I think it's time for some payback and exercise the demons of the past. Also, If you should happen to come across Tom Olividatti today, please do me a favor and kick him in the nuts.

Hardly anything to angry about,I mean Marino missed Duper.A play to get mad about is the obvious non-call fumble on the kick off of OT in 1986 game where replay was born.Instant replay was implimented sept 7 1986,and the non call on replay happened sept 21 1986.

When you lose by straight up play what revenge is there? When you lose in a huge game like the 45/45 tie on the road in overtime when replay was in place it sticks with me more. Also fans carry anger on games from the past, these guys wern't even born or infants and could care less and rightly so.

Wanna get pissed off? There is no audio but Start video at the 45:00 minute point exactly. What an obvious fumble,it isn't even debatable.

I was at the stadium that afternoon.

It was a helluva game. But it was like feeling a knife in the ribs at the end.

I have always hated win and you're in scenarios since then.

I think I became a fan right after this game at 8 years old because I don't remember this game at all. :/

Johnny Hector and Freeman Mcneil killed us last half of the 4th quarter into overtime they never threw the ball. Ran the ball everytime. I was 22 my best friend still rides me about this game. Olivadatti that name and dolphins do not mix. That 94 san diego playoff lost that was our superbowl we should of never lost that game. We were the best matchup that could match the 49ers score for score. Stoy did miss the game winning field goal felt like somebody shot me.

i second that, and the year we kept them out a few years ago

I went to that game solo. None of my buddys were Miami fans and so nobody wanted to cough up the cash for a playoff ticket. Drove down from Ventura and it rained all the way down until kickoff and then it stopped. Rained started back up on the drive home. God, that was a long drive back to Ventura. My roomate and his gfriend put a can of Dolphin safe tuna on my bed. Went back down the next year and watched Miami whip up on SD on a Sunday night game. But, still that was a heartbreaking loss. And we would`ve gotten smoked by SF if we`d have beaten Pitt.
