that we don't need to draft a QB or RB.

QB - because we have so many other problems, it is hard for anyone to succeed. And we really don't know what we have with Beck.

RB - 1st of all because we have enough depth already. And 2nd because it has been proven time and time again, with a good OL you can just about plug anybody back there and they will be successful.
 
QB's take a while to develope. I want immediate impact players this draft , which basically means defense. O line , Defense , and a TE. Then next year we can look at WR , QB , and any other position that will take a bit to develope.

There is not a coach, GM or whatver Parcells' position is that going to go into a inaugaral season saying "I dont know what we have in our QB, lets just see how it plays out" We are drafting a QB, guaranteed. The only question is what round and whom

Even though I agree with you on the running back, knowing Parcells from his years in New York I could see him drafting a bruiising RB. Probably not but its possible. Remember Parcells doesnt care about the Dolphins, he cares about reshaping the Dolphins in his image and furthering his reputation
 
I would be more convinced if Beck showed even a tiny sign of being decent. All he showed was that he couldn't even hold on to the ball, he was dropping it with nobody around him, which is just inexcusable for a pro-level QB
 
Draft to beat the Patriots. Shut down Moss, rush Brady, protect our QB, stop the run, another receiving target. Simple.
You can win Super Bowls with less than stellar quarterbacks. We aren’t ready to even talk super bowls.

Drafting a QB this year is not going to help that out.
I could see him saying that, and so he goes out and signs a veteran like Pennington. But, saying that and drafting another rookie is not answering it.
 
It depends on what round you are talking about! Defiently we should not draft a qb or rb in the first round. we at some pint have to consdier taking a qb in the later rounds because we lack depth at the position! i am thinking if Flacco is there in the third round we have to make him our pick! I would not even consider a RB in any round , because we have so many other questions at other postions! .
 
Gotta be wondering about whether Beck's age comes into play if he needs more time to develop. Guys his age are already leading teams to playoffs.

another guy just like Booker...

Anthony Alridge 5-9 174 4.26 Houston

Granted he is small. He also can play WR like Booker, rated # 23 by NFL Draft Scout.

As a RB in 2006 he ave. over 10 yds a carry. 95 atts. for 959 yds.
In 2007 259 atts. for 1597 yds. with a 6.2 ave.

Get him as a FA, send someone there waiting at his house.

I love Aldridge as a slot receiver prospect. Props for that one. Not many people are looking at him

You just defeated your argument. How are we going to beat the Patriots unless we have a QB who can go toe to toe with Brady, pass for pass. Ever since they instituted the Patriots pass defense rules the game has become a passing game. The running game is second fiddle to being able to pass the ball. We cant settle for the second coming of Jeff Garcia. We need to find the next Cutler or Roethslisberger or Hasselbeck or Brady to have a shot at dethroning them

Parcells wont care about 2008. He's going to be drafting for 2009. Even if he does nothing we'll be 6-10 just by enetering the season healthy. He has the luxury of drafting players that wont make an impact until 2009 because the media will fawn all over him just for getting us a few more wins. There are no QBs available in 2009 so he has to draft one this year
 
BTW we gotta draft a QB.

Both Green and Cleo might be gone, that leaves only Beck.

I wouldn't do it this way... but I say we get Ryan after trading out of the 1st pick.

Personally I would get Brennan in the 2nd or 3rd. I would not get Derek Anderson.
He has a monster line yet completed 56% of his passes. Colt's ugly game was 57%.
Colt was sacked before he could even breathe. Those who wrote Colt off could regret passing on him, Tom Brady probably wouldn't have done much better that day.

We need more picks. 2 more in the 2nd and 2 more in the 3rd and 4th, and the only way to get there is to trade down, and this is the year, and the position.
 
Honestly, I think I'd make my evaluation of John Beck based on BYU tapes. Cam's play calling hand-cuffed Beck and to a large degree the entire offense.


Friggin waste of an entire year......
 
Maybe this whole season was designed that way by both Cam and Randy, they were collecting picks to harvert the low draft position that was coming. 1st year coaches lose, that's what they do, Chuck Knoll won 1 game, Bill Walsh 2, Parcells 3.

They cannot come out and say we are going to lose 12 to 15 games. They cannot even tell the owner that, it is politically incorrect, but we are going to win next year because we are going to trade down and collect oodles of picks and restock our defense.

BP saw that and now he will have all the glory. Egads what a guy.
