Does anyone else feel REALLY REALLY BAD for our defense?

The defense itself put up a maximum of 21 points this year. 21 points is extremely good, but when you average 12 points a game, what's the point of holding a team to 17 when your team can barely score 10? We scored a total of 61 points in 5 games. I'm sorry but that's PATHETIC. No, it's not just the quarterback play. The o-line did not play well until today regardless of how long c-pep holds the ball. Chambers and booker have not stepped up at all. Mcmike has been invisible because of the need for blocking. The only consistent player on offense has been wes because wes is god.

Now, I have heard a lot of whining about the secondary, but from where I see it, they're aren't giving up alot of points so I don't care. This whole offense needs to step up.

By the way, don't fall in love with harrington. He looked ok, but the bottom line is two picks that set up 14 points, and 10 points total from the offense.

I do. I can't believe the heat they take here. They give the offense ample oppurtunity to win the game, then the other team makes some plays and the defense sucks. Wake up folks, our D would probably shutout our offense if they played. I bet our secondary would look like pro bowlers.

Our Defense is probably rated in the top 10 overall, i havent checked the stats, but i'll just about bet on it. The points are gonna start coming in bunches, just hold on guys!!!!!

I know I shouldn't, but I do feel bad for what veterans like ZT/JT must be going through. This has to be a particularly tough time for them -- as tough as it gets for multi-millionaire sports professionals, anyhow.

They've excelled at their positions for a long time, have been a part of some special teams that just couldn't finish it off, and now as they're running low on gas they're being tested again pretty soundly.

Anyhow, after watching Dan's career, I always want to see guys like that reap the team rewards of giving so much out there on the field.

But that's life in the NFL. You can't have it any other way!

im sick of them. they play great all game and then give up a play, or penalty at the worst time, its been like this for ages now. bend then break when you absolutely cant have it happen.

Alot of the bad breaks for the D has come after the O has the turn the ball over. The defense has been good this year. When the other team keeps getting the ball in such good field position they are going to put up points.

we've wasted zt and jt, they will never win a ring here. the most disturbing thing about the defense is the secondary continually giving up the big play or committing a costly penalty that affects the outcome of the game. that has been the main staple of the nick saban era so far. isn't he supposed to be an excellent db coach?

Let's not pretend that this defense is dominant. They have made some crucial mistakes themselves. They might be playing better than the offense but no one would confuse them with the Bears.

we have the 5th best defense in the nfl right now and suprise suprise just as always ZT is leading in tackles however we have the 9th worst offense right now if the offense would step it up only then do we have an inkling of a chance.
