We saw so many homers running drooling at the chin over everything Parcells did, excusing his BLATANT disregard for our current roster. Something I knew would be a problem if we fired Cameron after only one year.

I knew there have been countless threads discussing the pro's and con's of our draft, but there are very few pro's IMO.

I am just curious to know really if all those Parcells supporters realize how weak of a "foundation" he built in Dallas. How not one OL he drafted in 4 years in Dallas panned out....no one realizes they had to build practically the entire cowboys team through free agency because only about 4 players Parcells drafted was worth a damn.

3 of his 4 first round picks in Dallas didn't come anywhere near their expectations.....which is EXACTLY what happened with EVERYONE of his 1st round picks with the Jets.

Sure Jason Witten is good, Demarcus Ware is excellent, and Marion Barber is pretty good. What else is there to be so supportive about? Tony Romo? Sean Payton gets 110% of the credit of Romo, Parcells stuck with the wrong QB in Dallas and quit as a result.

Lets not suck his **** too much folks. It had to be said. Why?

Because we still need corners, we still need LB's, and we still need WR's.

We don't need another RB. I know that, you know that, but clearly some people made a huge BLUNDER evaluating this roster. Thats it. Disagree with me, hate me, but until you know for sure, I very well may be 100% correct.

Ya with our draft. But every other one of his drafts is available for scrutiny. But because his name is Bill Parcell's, everyone just assumes he's Jimmy Johnson.

The man can't draft worth a ****.

He needs FA to build teams. And thats why he's never left a team with a solid foundation. What kind of a foundation did he really build in Dallas?

They STILL NEED CORNERS. What does that tell you. He spent so much time drafting big DE's....NONE OF WHICH PANNED OUT that he failed to realize games are won and lost in the passing game.

Last time he won a superbowl we were in the first gulf war. I am saying it now, the game passed him by, I am just one of the first to realize it.

I get tired of people giving him praise as such a great draft evaluator. I don't think he is anything special. This year I think they did ok. Personally I wouldn't have drafted Henne at that position. I like Long (that was a no brainer though). Unlike many here I don't think that our health secondary is nearly as big as concern as most. Wide reciever is where I would have went with the #32 pick. We will just have to wait and see what pans out.

I agree, I do think he's an excellent evaluator of free agents and thats where he's always made his mark. Unfortunately, historically, FA isn't the way to build a sustainable team. Its always a 2-3 year fix, which is what he's all about. Which is why Dallas is scrambling to put together a secondary cause BP overlooked it completely. I would've preferred to go into year two of a "plan" than year one of a fix.

Thats the difference between Parcells and Belichik, Belichik can draft too. Thats why one Bill wins now, and the other hasn't won much more than Dave Wannstedt since 95.

I do. draft wise. Parcells is the master motivator though and will get everything out of the players. It's just the players aren't as talented as I would have got. Take Corey Lynch and Durrell Mapp for example. We copuld have got them with 6th and 7th round picks and Mapp as a undrafted FA and both fit the Parcells player profile. I was extremely disappointed. Bill's stamp will be on the competitiveness we see this year unlike last year and the will to win. We lost 7 games last year by a TD or less and had all kinds of unmotivated talent. That won't be the case this year IMO. So I feel I could have got him better players with his player preferance mantality but trust his motivational ability.

I don't agree with how the draft went either but more than anything what this team needs is continuity. I may be in the vast minority but I don't think Cam and Mueller were headed in the wrong direction. There has been WAY too many new regimes in here lately and it is very hard to build a succesfull team that way. Now I don't know if Parcells, Ireland, or Sporano's philosophy and their type of players will bring Miami to the top but one thing I'm pretty certain of is they need to be given TIME to at least be able to find out.

Cowboys 2005 draft: Ware, Spears, Burnett, Barber, Canty were the first five picks. That's pretty good. And the OL he's drafted there is mainly playing behind vets. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a hugh Parcells fan, but he does get teams going in the right direction.

He's taken teams that were down and turned around the franchise everywhere he has been. There is no denying that.

Not everything that the guy does is golden.....but his teams win more than they lose....and they are playoff teams by the time he leaves and afterwards.

Your were dead on til the very end, IMO. Where we differ is that my biggest issue isn't the actually player's Parcells drafted, but the fact that he drafted players we don't need....regardless of how good they are. How beneficial could it possibly be to have all these RB's but lack talent at No.2 WR and just about every spot behind the DL.

We didn't add that much overall talent, and by the way, I think Chad Henne blows. I watched just about every Michigan game he ever played.....if he is so great.....he would've been great at Michigan. He had EVERYTHING at his disposal. Guys like that don't usually get better. He lacks the natural instincts to be a leader.....but because he can throw a ball he goes in the second round? Amazing what one good college game will do for you if its your last. If Henne's last game was a disaster like so many others he might not have been drafted at all.

Jake Long will always prefer Chad Henne to John Beck, that kind of favoritism from a player this franchise invested the No.1 pick on ensures John Beck will not get a fair shake.

For a year, than they need a complete overhaul because the FA's have all gotten old and most of the draft picks haven't panned out. Dallas was scrambling to fix their entire secondary because none of their corners can cover. Terrence Newman was a LOUSY 5th overall selection.

Why oh why did Jimmy Johnson leave us?

Parcells had to rid the team of the foul stench of last year's 1-15 and disenfect the franchise of what was Cam Cameron and his horrid 2007 draft that yielded only 1 true player. Samson Satele

Ya know, I was willing to give your ideas the benefit of the doubt until you said that.

Games are won and lost in the trenches ... running the ball and stopping the run.
