I heard that they struggled defending against it. I would be interested in seeing it.

We did not use any WC vs. Saints during preseason. Only Carolina saw some but they saw regurgitated base stuff plus the flea flicker one to Cobbs.

The Saints have never ever seen the WC.

Let me rephrase. Is there any footage of the Saints against other teams' sorry attempt of copying the Wildcat? I know the Jets ran the semen-hole and the Eagles ran the dog killer. I was curious as to what they actually looked like defending it.

Both the Jets and Eagles (Vick was still suspended) ran their versions of the wildcat with some success, but did not stick with it. Miami runs it very well and I will be interested to see how we will handle it. As to film footage, I would be interested in seeing it again as well.

I hope they plan on using something better than a 4-2-5......we will manhandle 5 db's.....

I really doubt they're going to use a 4-2-5 on the Wildcat. In fact, I'm telling you now they will not do that.

I'm not sure where the 4-2-5 assumption came from, but the Saints were in their base 4-3 in that one clip.

Teams have had moderate success with it but I'm sure the Saints will actually prepare for it this week.

Saints do like to blitz their corners and safeties and line up 8 guys right on the line of scrimmage a lot so it will be interesting to see how that works out this week.

Jets like to do the same thing, you seen what we did to them.

I think one of the biggest differences between both our teams running styles has gone unmentioned thus far. Every game we have played in to date our opponents have kept 8-9 in the box the entire game other than obvious passing downs. So all of them have stacked the box to do one thing and that's stop the run and thus far we have been able to still tote the rock with absolute impunity.

Another thing that I feel gets over looked is the Wildcat and the 3 main plays we run from it. Its no secret that if you see us in the cat we are going to run (with the exception of two plays). Out of the Cat we will generally run one of three plays, Sweep, power, or counter. I mention this because after just reading some of the posts on the Saints forum I still feel that the majority of your fan base feel its trickery. Which for the most part is ok with me but in order for you to stop it you need to understand it.

Our success in running it has more to do with our teams dedication to it as well as the personal that we have both in the backfield as well as the guys up front, which includes the Fullback and TE's.

In your case and please correct me if I am wrong but I don't see teams going into the game against you saying we need to but 9 in the box and see if Bree's can beat us lol. Do you see what I'm saying? Yes you guys have had success running the ball that is not in question. I pray for the day that our passing game establishes a real down field threat that forces the other teams safety's to sit back and respect the pass.

So in short While I do think you guys have the more complete team and should be favored to win Sunday, Don't underestimate the power or our running game.

Thanks for the quality summary, Landshark. Good info for those of us who have had a very limited chance to see the Miami wildcat in action other than weekly highlights.
