Does Anyone Remember this Game?

It was 1991ish and we were playing the bills in buffalo. We were up 7-0(i think) early in the game and buffalo had the ball around their 20 and it was 3 & 20. They didnt get the first down but their was a holding call on buffalo. Instead of declining and making them punt shula took the penalty to give them 3 & 30 and hoping they would have to punt out of their own endzone.

Of course Kelly completed the long pass for a 1st down. Marched down the field for a TD and buffalo ended up winning.

Was discussing this game with a buddy who didnt remember it.

Anyone recall this game?

I've tried to destroy all the Miami-Buffalo memories from the early 90's with booze because 95% were awful.

I can't remember this game but I've blocked out most of those old Buffalo - Dolphins games to spare my sanity. You really have to wonder what "the Don" was thinking with the defense we had at that time.

I remember a similiar situation, but Madison committed a stupid unnecessary roughness penalty that gave the bills a first and opened the flood gate in a game we were dominating.

I just remember we never lost to the Bills in the 1970's.....not once. Good memories.

I also remember being in Buffalo in 1996 and with just seconds left and leading 14-7, Kelly has the ball deep in Miami territory, he threw a pass towards the end zone which Terrell Buckley picked off and ran back 99 yards for a TD.

I also remember in 1992 Louis Oliver picking off 3 Kelly passes and returning one 103 yards for a TD.
Hey, we need to sprinkle in some good with the bad. It never hurts to smile at a memory.

I believe the game you are talking about was the first game of the 1991 season. The Dolphins took the early 14-0 lead the game became a shootout with the Bills winning.
The Dolphins started out by running all over the Bills with Mark Higgs, who had a big game. However the Dolphins defense like always back then couldn't handle Thurman Thomas.
