Does anyone think JT can play ILB if we draft Chris Long or do you see us trading Jason if we draft Chris Long (the leading candidate for the #1 overall pick IMO)????

If we draft Chris Long he would be SOLB (a better fit than JT) and WOLB would be Joey Porter (same position he played in Pittsburgh and did awesome at). Long would be better at coverage than Jason too.

I dont know the difference in OLB and ILB and what it take to play them. I assume that the OLB's have to be able to blitz more in a 3-4 but also drop back into coverage more and ILB either play a little zone or blitz up the middle. but you know what they say when you assume. lol

imo it would be a waste of talent if JT plays ILB because he must primarily defend against the run or drop into pass coverage...you normally play hybrid DEs as OLB and not ILB...
so don't move him to the ILB spot..

Yeah, I don't think we should move JT to ILB no matter who we draft. I like him as the hybrid.

JT isn't a ILB....he's far better as a OLB.

I don't think Jason Taylor has the build to play ILB. He has too lean of a body frame to play it on a long term basis. Joey Porter has the frame that could be better suited for the inside if it came down to moving JT or JP to another position.

Chris Long and JT are both capable of playing at DE or OLB positions...or rushing from any point on the line. Having Chris Long means you can have him or JT line up where they think it's best.

Now what does Parcells think...Hmm?

I highly doubt that Parcells believes that C. Long can play as a 3-4 DE...especially when you look at the cowboys DE's. I can see C. Campbell better suited as a 3-4 DE than C. Long.

If you've got a guy who can do both, you gotta mix it up to keep defensive coordinator's guessing. When you've got two guys that can provide a rush from either position, you definitely have to do it, you're wasting versatility at that point.
