Wake has been cursed to play for some very mediocre Dolphins teams his entire NFL career. He has been one of the few star players on the team during that span. While there are some games where he disappears, he has been a pretty consistent passrusher and game changer during his time with the Dolphins. Has he done enough to earn a spot on the Ring of Honor?

For his sake, I truly hope the Dolphins make the playoffs while he is still on the team. It would be a disservice to his level of effort over the years if he never experienced a playoff game with the team.

If he can keep up his elite play for another 3-4 years....possibly.

Would also help if this team makes it deep into the playoffs while he is still around.

I would think so if he finishes his career in Miami or at least a few more years. If he is gone next year I wouldn't think so though.

The hall of fame, rings of honor, retired jerseys used to be a true honor but it seems now the NFL and other sports are in such a rush to give out these types of awards. You so so many players getting into hall of fames nowadays but a lot have no business being selected. It seems like they would rather put on a show, sell merchandise, tickets, etc. rather than make it a cherished honor like it once was.

i think he's in without a doubt.

he's been considered one the top elite edge rushers in the nfl basically since he put on a dolphins uniform. not to mention his intangibles are flawless. work ethic, leadership, behavior, etc.

dude is a gem on this team and I hope he retires a dolphin.

Lining up next to Suh, I bet he goes off for 15+ sacks this season! Add in atleast 3-4 more years of that level of production and I'd say no doubt about it he'll be in the dolphins ring of honor

Agree with most of the above. Needs 2-3 more years of elite play. Pro Bowl and a win in the playoffs would help.

He's definitely in. Look at a couple of Ring inductees for comparison...John Offerdahl who had a fairly short career, and Nat Moore who was only on the team 4 seasons (MISTAKE! I meant Paul Warfield). Wake meets or exceeds that company. Looking at career length and awards, he's pretty much met Jake Scott's level, and it's likely he'll exceed that.

Definitely if he keeps it up for another 2 years. When you look at who's been on the roster for the past decade, he is the one consistent playmaker on the team. He deserves that honor.

Dolphins' Ring of Fame - Yes, NFL Hall of Fame - No. I see no reason why Wake hasn't done enough already to warrant being in the Ring of Fame. As for people saying he will be worthy if he has 3-4 more elite seasons, I just can't see Wake being elite at age 37. To me Wake is in the same boat as Evan Mathis, they're both good at what they do, but they only have a couple of years left in the tank.

I don't know what Nat Moore you're talking about, but #89 was around for 13 seasons.

If I'm not mistaking Moore played like 13 years in Miami. John Offerdahl never had a supporting cast. And This team has never had a player at Saftey the level of Scott or Anderson in the last 40 years. Wake is on the cusp of making it and probably will.

he is getting in if he retires here, not his fault he played on **** teams
