So the new depth chart was released and Donald Thomas was #1 RG. And i was wondering what you guys thought of that. Does it excite you that we have a young line or worry you that we may not have the depth we need.

I for one am excited i mean we have a Franchise type of LT in Long who is playing very well 2 poor plays one was jitters one he was beat by one of the best DE in the league other than that he lives on the 2nd level and our Qb's aganist the Jags got NOTHING no sacks and our FIRST TEAM which is the group to watch looked like Penny had all the time he needed. And along with him a ProBowl caliber Center in Satele entering his 2nd year and now a rookie RG who has impressed BP and TS who is an O-line coach so he must really be doing something great. And Vernon isnt like OLD he is in his what 5th year and Smiley who is entering his 5th year. So im really really excited about the hunger aggression and YOUTH of our line I Hope Long and Thomas make huge leaps this year.

What do you all think?

Thomas is already a hell of a lot better than Hadnot ever was imo.. Sparano has been raving about Thomas, as has our D-line.. Sparano singled out Thomas saying he played very well versus Jacksonville. We got ourselves a late round steal with this guy, and it feels nice.

We're young and going to go through some pains but the overall outlook looks great. Having him impress the veterans during came excites me the most, most of those guys would tell you if they thought he sucked so for them to comment positively is outstanding. Thomas will be great for the run game just as Long will be, smash mouth football is what will decide winning division championships when December comes around and we play in Buffalo then NYJ and NE for years to come.

OL never excites me. I'll be pleasantly surprised if the OL is better than last year...which I believe it will be.

I agree. Thomas is doing a great job! We have a young Offensive line that look like they are going to come together pretty well. I also think Jake long has started to silence some of his critics about speed pass rushers. He got schooled on that one running play last week, took a step in the wrong direction to pick up the man to the outside and let someone else in to make the play. Thats how you learn in the NFL. We played a pretty good Defense last week and this line didn't give up a sack! I like it!:hi5:

Very excited for the youth movement!! We'll have our growing pains but we'll be a force in a season or two!! Bank on it!!

I think the O-line will gel pretty quick i think its a perfect match of some seasoned players and young players. Maybe one more addition to add depth and some experience other than that i really like this line let them play together and GEL they can be a STUD line for a very long time.

I'm definately excited about Donald Thomas grabbing the RG position! I would've liked to have seen Murphy do the same for the LG position, but he'll compete for it next year.

I am very excited that Donald Thomas has shined at being the RG. For a team that has struggled in drafting, it is nice to see that this oline was built by the draft. 4 of the 5 starters are players that were drafted, and Smiley is the only free agent signee.

It is s nice young line that can potentially be together for quite a long time. We need to lock up Vernon Carey long term to ensure that.

Very exciting to see that we hit on a 6th rounder that's going into the opening day lineup. He's played surprising well. I don't think we've hit on a late rounder since Jimmy Johnson.

I excited not only about Thomas but the entire starting OL. They are young and "it appears" talented. I can't wait for them to get some expierence under their belts. Hopefully next off-season we can add some depth. We need to re-sign Carey.

BTW, I also like what I have seen on the DL. Looks like we have some nice depth at DE.
As of right now I see TE, WR and DB as our area of weakness.

"I KNOW it is early", but this looks to be one of the best drafts we have had... ever...
Franchise LT, brusing RG, two good DE's a possible franchise QB...

I like that we actually have a guy that has stepped into the position and excelled so far. He excites me. I see no concern with it at all.

I'm excited. If the case were that he was starting because of a bad crop, I'd be a little worried, but from all reports it sounds like he has really earned the spot and has been playing like he belongs in the starting lineup. I love it when rookies excel quickly.

You gotta be excited just because the promise of improvement over the last 2 years!! But be a little scared too. We are not deep at all. If one goes down we could be in big trouble.

On the other hand being as young as they are they should be very coachable and become a very cohesive unit quickly (pray) then again. No real veteran leadership may hurt.

my head hurts
