Does everyone notice when shelton gets beat, the whole online gets hammered?

I myself havent seen that but I also dont think its right for the fans to single out just one of the players on the O-Line who is having trouble, lets face it, They all are the problem and not just Shelton.

One guy, especially the left tackle, can bring down the entire line. I think it is perfectly fine to single that guy out. This is what the coaches should and would do. I agree that the whole line is having problem, but it may be that LJ is the weakest link and getting him to play better would improve the whole unit.

I noticed it myself multiple times. If he doesn't plan to play hard then I expect miami to get him out of there.

At least twice Shelton has gotten beat because Hadnot slid to help Bennie Anderson leaving James and Shelton 1-1 with a DT/DE on their side. Another time everyone slid to Anderson and Shelton was left 1-1 with Joey Porter. The OL really is a unit and our RG play has made the unit look like crap....Teams are blitzing in DC's face and we have to block that, then DC and his concrete feet hold the ball forever and the 1-1 blocks on the weakside collapse. IMHO the blitzer is not what is killing us entirely.......it is having to overcompensate for our bad guard play. You cannot hold blocks forever and you cannot continue to cover up for our RG...whomever that may be...

I would like to see ANYONE block a Joey Porter or someone of NFL calibre for as long as DC has been holding the ball. Compensating for our RG has caused 1-1 matchups on the otherside and caused McMike to have to chip on numerous plays...RG effect the entire OL and TE production and our RG play has been simply put....HORRIBLE.

lol at Culpepper holding onto the ball... some plays he gets maby 3 seconds at most.. and they are our deep pass plays. You do know our recievers havent gotten open and run basic routes? Yes, let culpepper wing them out there.. all you kiddos will be yelling for his head cause he is just throwing them out there into heavy coverage. stop with the biasd uneducated remarks.

C-Pepp IS holding the ball and yes our recievers have not gotten open...as for biased uneducated remarks...review my posts...I am not a C-Pep basher and have shown no bias....as for uneducated...Master degeree, I played 4 years D-1 football (as a QB) and 2 years minor League baseball....you indicate you are more "educated" than the rest of us.....how? Also I WISH I were a "kiddo"....I am 42 and feel 142.....so stop with the uneducated remarks until you know someone....

saban was a goof for sitting mcintosh anyways.

the guy was playing GREAT last year and helped
the o-line be one of the top 3 in fewest sacks
allowed.

but no....we bench that guy and sign a cast off,
under achiever and start him.

3 of the guys on htis line were part of that nfl
top 3 unit. the o-line is not the biggest culprit,
[qb and rb the tops] but a rt guard cant be that
hard to find and mcintosh is right there.

if ricky was here and frerotte was here we woudnt
be talking about this anyways.

oh...and mularky is VERY predictable with the play
calling. my wife watched last weeks game with me
and she was marvelling at how i knew what play
was coming up.

i told her it was no real feat of wonder, our o-coach
is telegraphing everything he does. and if i knew
what was coming, you can bet jeff fischer knew.

and he did.

I have reviewed TIVO of all three games. Shelton has played well. Not perfect but well. Well enough for us to win.

I don't understand why the focus is on Shelton. IMO, he has been one of the bright spots early on.

The problem is Jeno James getting over powered by DT's and Kendyl Jacox blowing assignments and getting beaten physically. The other problem has been RB's and TE's not picking up the blitz.

Out tackles are not perfect, but we can win w/ the way they are playing.

Its really tough for an Oline to hold up when you dont have one player that can consistantly dominate his man 1on1. Its one thing when its Porter, but Denney and LaBoy? These are players that dont get near a QB against a half way decent tackle.

I have seen Mcmicheal screw up more than anyone on the OL IMO. Mcmike is part of the OL in a lot of situations, especially when in need to max protect. The FB has also screwed up a couple. Its just something that has to get worked through and I am confident it will, because this is what happened last year except with less penalties. So pick your poison, do you want guys firing out with dominance and getting penalties from jumping offsides or staying at home and screwing up their assignments every once in a while until they get it? Ill take the later as we work out the bugs to start firing out with dominance.

We are also a second half team so we tend to be better on the OL then when we wear down the D in the hot sun. By that time, half of you went home and didnt witness this so you think we suck when really we are not that bad.

I appreciate an educated opinion. Thank U for puttng in time to give us a real view. Jacox cannot be expected to just step in and not have problems. Its unreal. I think the problem is technical and not talent. And I dont care who you are, you win some, you lose some. Sometimes it takes a loss to wake the giant so to speak. I would rather it happen early in a game and then learn and overcome it later. Which is basically what I have been seeing minus Buffalo where it is too little to late.

Im not so sure Fisher saw those end arounds coming and if he did, he doesnt have control on his defense.

Anytime an offensive linemen lets someone through, chaos ensues. The whole OL is a mess. Guys like McMike and Ronnie should really be out there as passing options rather than blocking and supplementing a bad OL.

whatever the problem may be in need to be fixed and it starts this week. cuz next week we have the patriots and these boys better be ready to play top notch football. we better get our crap together this week!!!! or some shake ups are a must.
