With culpepper not being rushed back with the knee is Nick hedging his bet at QB with Harrington?, how about if the guy comes in to camp and just lights it up, he was a first round pick right, he is 27 or 28 years old, do you think nick told the kid he can come in and compete?

One of the reasons why Joey wants to come to Miami is because Saban gave him no guarantees. He didn't guarantee he would get a chance to start, and he didn't guarantee he would have to sit on the bench all year. More then likely Joey will start 3-5 games for us this season and Daunte will take over when completely healthy.

The plan seems to be to rebuild Joey's value and trade him in the future for higher picks. That would seem to be the plan, but heck maybe like you said, he comes in and lights things up.

I hope thats the case. I wouldn't mind us having a QB controversy with two good QB's instead two scrubs.

Agreed. Culpepper Vs Harrington sounds a lot better then Frerotte Vs Feeley or Feeley Vs Fiedler.

However, before we get too excited, we still need to aquire Harrington. As of right now he is still a Detroit Lion.

It would be nice if we had a Brees/Rivers type of QB debate here. It will be a first in a long, long time.

If Joey is brought in, it's to be as a backup. He knows this. He also knows there's a chance he'll be the starter at the start of the season and that will be his opportunity to show other teams (that don't run the west coast offense) that he can be a viable starter in the league. There will be no QB controversy, atleast not amongst the players or coaches. Despite what some might think...QB controversies are not good for any team.
