Or will he be just another typical inexperienced pos? FYI I have no clue who hickey is, so I'll reserve judgement until I see who our first round pick is.
P.s. Give me facts about hickey, not this bs that he was kicked out of the war room. Maybe he got kicked out cuz he thought freeman was crap idk.

FACT: He has been part of a Super Bowl winning team.
FACT: He has worked both in the college AND professional scouting departments
FACT: He was part of the same organization for 18 years. How does someone stay with a team that long if they're not at least competent at what they're doing?

futurescout really likes Zach Martin to us at 19. I tend to agree with him. I like Troy Niklas out of ND as a tight end who might be available to us in the 2nd.

Get those two boys from Notre Dame. I'd take it.

Good point, if he was that horrendous you would think he would be shown the door.

I'm leaning more and more towards Martin with our 1st. I originally wanted Calvin Pryor (Safety from Louisville) with our first, but even though he's going to be a stud, we have more pressing needs.

Now, if we were to trade Dion Jordan to Philly for their 1st rounder, we could land both plus Philly's 3rd this year. I would have to think long and hard about that deal, but I'd also have to get a high pick next year (2nd rounder?) because I think Jordan will be a great pro.

Honestly, the only reason he was going to get canned was because of the authority that Lovie was going to take on, combined with the hiring of Jason Licht as the new GM. It's a new regime, so they want their own people.

Fill me in on zach martin, who does he remind of? I haven't seen him play.

No more Martins please. :chuckle:

haha...Funny that you say that because the whole Bullygate situation has completely soured me on drafting anyone from Stanford. Ever. I just can't think of Stanford without seeing Martin's smiling, yet "traumatized" face on the sidelines of a primetime game collecting a paycheck while his Dolphins "teammates" are busting their asses in a playoff run.

No Ty to zach martin. Would absolutely be the wrong pick in my opinion.

Talk is that he's the best lineman in the draft and can play either guard or tackle. Right or wrong, his hype train is picking up steam heading into the combine.
